Who Would You Prefer to Kill Your Father? ;-)

Okay, it's Friday. Time for a little friendly debate. In both of their last albums, both Morrissey and Kristeen Young had songs pertaining to patricide. Morrisey with "The Father Who Must Be Killed" and KY with "Kill the Father." Which is a better song and why?

For me, I think KY's song is head and shoulders the better song. It is musically interesting and not in any conventional way. Lyrically, she stakes claim to the stage and her place on it. It is a rocking feminine version of "Get Off the Stage."

I haven't heard KY's song (and am in no hurry to do so), but this is scant praise, indeed.

Yeah, I know it's easy to pick on KY. But Morrissey's song here is, well, not good. If your voting for it I want to hear people defend it, not just bang on Kristeen. Lord knows there's been plenty of that...
