From mid 2015 until recently I debated with countless folks supporting or sympathetic to Trump. From calm, reasoned chats to insult fests. Not one mind was changed so I really don't know what the point is in arguing about him. He's pure f***ing evil if you ask me. He's bad for the country, the world. The ONLY good that could come out of this failed experiment is that people realize/are reminded it's still better to choose a person with actual governing, political experience for the ridiculously complex job. Trump is an emotionally immature moron and proves it almost daily. Sure, you could say he's secretly smart with how he manipulated the system but, no, he just benefitted from the timing and the evil geniuses advising him. He was in the right place at the right time for this experiment. It's been even worse than feared. With all her faults Hillary would have been a decent president and 100x more competent than Trump.. You will not dissuade me from what I know. That Trump is a terrible human being completely and unequivocally unfit to lead anything but lemmings off a cliff. He must be and will be replaced before completing his first term.
I'll let you have the last word but this is a waste of time. I've been out of energy talking about this sack of crap waste of carbon for some time now. Still I make the mistake of attacking posts that are sympathetic towards Trump but that's because it's completely insane and, well, f***ing stupid to defend the c***.
I understand your point of view. I am not here to defend Trump. My point is that there is deep-rooted corruption in the government and institutions like Hollywood that involves some pretty dark stuff. Some of these things are now coming to light like never before. Do you really think Hillary Clinton being in power and none of the corruption of the deep state coming out would be a good thing? Believe it or not, maybe Trump knows how evil some of these people are, hence he treats them like garbage considering the stakes. Who else could expose these corrupt and sick freaks if not someone with a personality the size of Trump's?
All I'm saying is, consider some different possibilities, just for a second. It's not like I'm set on what I believe. The more insight we get, the more our views should evolve. It seems that all too often now, people are scared of new information that threatens their worldview. They're scared of having to re-evaluate their understanding of how the world works. However, with many of the revelations coming out lately, people are definitely beginning to see certain things differently when they hadn't considered them before.
Love Trump or hate him, he has gotten people talking and thinking about what they believe. He has gotten people thinking critically, and somehow this is now frowned upon by mainstream institutions such as the media and universities. Why is that?
One good thing about Clinton winning would have been that we could all sweep these difficult issues back under the rug (but maybe not). I really think people are in denial about how bad things are in terms of high-level officials being involved in disturbing illegal practices. Maybe ignorance is bliss for you, and that's fine. It's your choice of course regarding what you want to believe and what concerns you. But that doesn't make it reasonable to condemn people who you disagree with.
Our very ability to express our views is being threatened. This should concern everyone, but it doesn't seem to in the event that CNN says things that you happen to agree with or wish were true. This is short-sighted and dangerous. Have people not read and understood
1984? It should be more concerning than it seems to be for people that we are much less free today to express ourselves than we were twenty years ago, or five years ago. Again, why?
I guess it depends what concerns you more and what you're inclined to believe. But I will say this, and it isn't directed at you: most people, and I can sympathize with this, just would not rather know about certain things that go on in the world. We don't want to think about the effects of the pharmaceutical industry or child sex trafficking rings. Fine.
For the good of society, though, we really ought to start thinking critically again.
