I wondered that myself, when he made the joke about having "arrived" because they have one copy of his record for sale in a shop in Halifax ("or is it nova scotia"?). and then when he said he wasn't asked for any interviews in Canada because all the outlets were afraid he would say something intelligent. not sure, people always seem to like to belittle Canada.
It's called British humor... you should look into it. He's taking the piss... and he's right, most Canadians are afraid he'll say something intelligent... case in point.

it's not really up to the standard of morrisseys humour, though, as it's pretty cliche and unoriginal at this point.

frankly, I don't think the newspapers here are afraid he'll say something intelligent. most Canadians are pretty easy going in letting people have their say. it's the canadian mentality, you should look into it. if, for example, he said something people here didn't agree with they'd probably just shrug it off and think "ah, the out of touch rich". there definitely wouldnt be any big ado about it. in fact, it's almost absurd to think that there would be. while that may be why other newspapers don't want to interview him, I think, rather, the reason no newspapers here wanted to interview him is because he's not really that well known in this country (in fact, at first when he started the joke I thought he was going to make some sort of self deprecating joke about how no one here knows who he is.... but no)

'Canadians are pretty easy going in letting people have there say'?? Really?? Haha... Canadians are some of the biggest snowflakes in the world.
Morrissey is just too smart for most. He's operating on a different level... it's why he gets so much hate from the sheep... they can't keep up.

im not hating on Morrissey, I would be the last person to do so. it was just an observation: he made the remarks; they seemed upon analysis somewhat disparaging. it would be nice if he could've said something nice about canada instead, but im really not fussed. I never say anything nice about Canada myself.
as for Canadians being snowflakes, we may have a higher level of consciousness than people in most other countries, but we're not hostile to differing opinions.

Yeah, I know you're not hating on him... but I really don't think you get him. You've projected a image onto him without understanding who he is and when he doesn't live up to that image, you're shocked. He's a complex man, full of contradictions but he's also been pretty consistent with what he is saying politically or otherwise.
I hate to burst your bubble but Canada is not perfect... and we just love to crap on Morrissey. As does Britain. Whether it was the right wing challenging him on his seal hunt stance or the left wing on his immigration laments, he can't win in Canada. But that's what I like about him... he's a fighter and he sticks to his beliefs. As far as Canada goes, look up Exclaim!, Canada's 'premier?' music publication, and the articles and reviews about Morrissey. They gave his last album, 1 star out of 10. It's so biased. Our media has been infiltrated by far left activists and I can see why Morrissey is weary of Canada. Canada is in trouble.. we've had good times for so long that we become weak and soft. Currently, we get our moral guidance from a mentally ill, 16 year old Swedish girl. We have no problem rewarding a convicted terrorist with 10. 5 million dollars and we forgive our PM, after not 1, not 2 but 3 (maybe more) blackface episodes. Morrissey sings 'London is dead.' Unfortunately Canada is dying as well... the signs are everywhere. Morrissey can see it... can you?

Honestly tho, Morrissey loves his fans. Before he threw his shirt out at the end of the night, he said 'I love you', 5 or 6 times. I felt the love... he was very happy... it was a great show, he was enjoying himself, as were the band, as was the crowd. I've seen many bands, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Peter Hook, U2, The Who, and literally everything in between and this was as good as it gets. He loves us as much as we love him. Doesn't mean he has to say... ' I love Canada, Canadians are the best, so tolerant, so kind, so conscious!' We're not. We're actually quite brainwashed... or as Morrissey said the other night, 'We are all just slaves.'

How do drummers know how fast to play when they're performing live? Do they use some sort of metronome?
Some drummers use click track, others use just feel. It all depends. Watch these 2 videos of The Cure - Disintegration. The first one in 1990 with Boris Johnson on drums using feel, way faster than the recorded version. So fast and so frantic, it has a chaotic feel. Boris possibly on coke or speed. Some diehard Cure fans consider him the best and prefer this era.

Then check out this version with Jason Cooper on drums... playing to a click. Has a totally different feel and is the same tempo as the record. Many diehard Cure fans hate Cooper. I personally like them both... they are like 2 different songs songs. Both awesome for different reasons.

When a drummer plays by feel, he sets the tempo and the song can breath a little. Expanding and contracting... but it's hard work do night in and night out. Even playing ro click an experienced drummer can add feel. It really depends on the kind of music. Blues or jazz or indie rock... definitely no click but more structured music can benefit from it.

P.S. Morrissey fully and undeniably supports far right political party FOR BRITAIN.
So what? You're either for 'Britain First' or for the far-left, socialist parties who believe in open-borders and mass-immigration to pad their vote and sustain their power. Which is worse?

Nationalism is not a crime. It is the opposite of globalism. You can't have Yin, without the Yang. A balance is all Britain First is asking for.

Unashamed right-wing scumbags on here now. GFY.

He doesn't love you, only how you can keep him famous. With screaming and stage invasions. Wherever he gets tickets sold he will go and wherever the audience hopefully hasn't heard of For Britain, the far right political party he endorses whilst not actually living in Britain for years, hypocrite and fake he is. He won't have anyone booing or protesting, he must and craves to look like an adored star. Sad. 'Bengali in platforms ' a song from his past as well as any greatness he may have had. Now passed.

There but for the grace of God go you. You filth ball.

Remember he told us at this concert that it was pointless to vote because it’s rigged? Let’s prove him wrong, get out and vote today!
