Excellent show. As others said, great band, great mix-sound, so-so set list but, it's Morrissey, did you REALLY think he was gonna roll out the red carpet of hits? He's ALWAYS been the Jefferson Starship (Stairway to Cleveland) of the mope rockers - "**** you, we do what we want!" Personally, I like just being in the room with him. He wanted to say a lot more but, you can tell he's thinking that through now. Pity. Because he has the courtesy to give you release with an absolutely epic How Soon Is Now?

Review: At his St. Petersburg stop, Morrissey gives fans a tour through his long back catalog of hits

"With this stellar performance, that hug symbolized what every single other person in the venue wanted to do to show their gratefulness and appreciation for this memorable show: hug the man who has provided the soundtrack of many of our lives for the last forty years."

He doesn't suck, the setlist does. His voice is sounding great, which only makes his song choices more baffling.
never seen anyone reply to his own post and disagree with yourself.

I'm a huge fan of traditional country music, and can't for the life of me understand this Waylon cover. It almost seems like a f*** you, I'll play whatever I want type thing. Of all the songs he has, he plays this? And it sucks!
I too am a big fan of traditional country music (the stuff today is garbage and doesn't deserve to be called "country"). Waylon was/is fantastic but I think "Hank" should be left to Waylon. There's no edge to Morrissey's version. It's a drone. It just doesn't fit him.

Now I think I'll go put some Waylon and George Jones on and drink some bourbon! Good times!

The show was fantastic. I've seen Morrissey several times and this was his best performance by far. He sounded great, and the band was really tight. The keyboardist and female guitarist in particular were phenomenal. Easily the best sound/mix I've heard. He switched up the set from the previous shows in this tour and it flowed really well. It seemed like everyone really enjoyed the show. Closing with How Soon Is Now was a great way to end. Jack the Ripper was outstanding with the lighting and smoke effects, it really transported you.

For those criticizing the set, the last time he played St. Pete it was completely different. I appreciate that he isn't just a novelty act performing a greatest hits compilation. That said, there were enough classics to keep even the casual fans satisfied. Five Stars. Thank you, Morrissey, for a wonderful evening that I won't forget!
totally agree , thought his singing was excellent , possibly the best i’ve heard , as a brit over on vacation was a bonus seeing him in the usa , seen him multiple times in the uk , was interested to see the difference with a us audience . the set list doesn’t bother me , just like the overall experience , the screen imagery of the northern characters from my youth , great night

Yeah maybe M can’t pull it off like Waylon, but I think Jesse and Carmen bring the edge needed and balance it out. Great guitarists them two.

Are you sure Hank blah blah blah isn't even a good country song. Absolutely bizarre choice for a cover.

How predictable you are.

Fun fact: Morrissey doesn’t care about me and he doesn’t care about you. You can defend him as much as you like, kiss his virtual arse etc. etc. He still doesn’t give a f***. To him, his fans are a given. His fans are nothing more than ATM machines. That’s all.

Have a nice life!
