LISTEN - Morrissey belongs to and is an ENGLISH INSTITUTION. I find it VERY offensive that the whole hub of Morrissey information is ran by an American website, it is vile and is a truly sad state of affairs.

England (UK) is place which influenced all of his writings, sadly, most people here don't understand the true English working class roots that made him what he is. A place that is forever England and that tugs at his insides like an invisible umbilical cord...THE English, working class northern roots....how he must miss them.

England is mine and it owes me a living...Take me back to dear old Blighty....cos if the truth be known, the Yanks DON'T REALLY understand the whole Smiths/Morrissey ethics & meanings....

And did those feet, in ancient times, walk upon England's mountain green....

MANCHESTER NORTH OF *ENGLAND

* = That's in THE UK for the philistines amongst you!

MORRISSEY FOREVER AN ENGLISH INSTITUTE.

MORRISSEY, MORRISSEY, MORRISSEY..........MORRISSEY.

Yes, but..

I do sympathise, as there are some lyrics that are so inexplicably English that it's hard to believe that anyone who isn't from England and hasn't a knowledge of our culture (and many who love to publicly damn us) can understand the underlying meanings within the songs. For example, in Morrissey chat I had a girl asking me who the National Front were. Which is irritating, but we can't exactly ignore the fact that he's jumped ship and actually lives in America right now. So it's a bit silly to find the whole thing offensive if he's living there.

So we must resign ourselves to the fact that Morrissey has shunned our beloved culture (especially the Nothern roots, come on, he lives in a mansion in LA) and as it's very cold and dark in the Yorkshire village I'm residing in it's very tempting to join him. Well, maybe not.

Money changes everything.

Morrissey only belongs to himself. Not you or your country. His home may have been Manchester in the past, but it's called Moz Angeles now.

Well I haven't seen any Englishman rise up and start a site to surpass this one. Get over it. It's NOT our fault you're too lazy to come up with a site such as this on your own!

Yes, there is no place like home. But just as one is born, raised and nurtured at "home", the wise move to LA when they've grown! His "invisible umbilical cord" may still be attached to England, but his home is LA now. You'll just have to grin and bear that. Besides, when you come from "the hood" and make alot of money, you certainly don't move back to it...you upgrade.

> England is mine and it owes me a living...

Which it didn't give him so he came here.

That goes to show how little you know!!

Yes...in ancient times. This is the present, stop living in the past!
