Which of Morrissey's 'old pals' do you think he's collaborated with?

With which 'old pal' do you think Morrissey has recently collaborated?

Wow -- I had thought they had agreed to compose together and draw a line there. You know -- an adult arrangement for imperfect relationships. I hadn't realized it was a more permanent break & that the best of YOR was Whyte left-overs. I am now quite concerned for new material....

If there is no Whyte on the shelf (or an easing of tensions yielding new material), he would have to dig back for Street or Marr to bring the drama!!

There are actually quite a few on the shelf that we know of:

"Action Man", "I'm Looking Forward To Going Back", "When I Was Young", "I Was Bully, Do Not Forget Me", and "Teresa, Teresa"...

Why does it have to be to get back into his favor? He could just be speaking honestly. I'm not saying you're wrong but I just think that's an unnecessary assumption.

Morrissey used to speak very highly of Joyce as well as of the rest of the guys. If not for the money thing I have a very hard time believing he would have ever made a disparaging remark about Joyce at all, in 23 years. He wanted Joyce and Rourke to continue with him, after all, and for awhile they did.

I think Joyce did genuinely enjoy his time in The Smiths and he has always spoken very bluntly about his respect and admiration for Morrissey and he has no reason to pretend otherwise. Morrissey is the one who likes to rewrite the past but I don't know who believes his bullshit at this point.

The money thing, I mean...whatever, that's between them. But honestly as time goes by, even though I don't agree with several aspects of Joyce's suit, I'd say the concept that Morrissey shoots from the hip where cash is concerned is definitely pretty sketchy. It's not like Joyce is the only one that has had problems over the years.

Actually, Joyce, Rourke, and Gannon all appeared with Morrissey following the break-up of The Smiths because they threatened to sue him and evidently he thought giving them another payday would ease the tensions.

Well, I don't know. I'm assuming you claim to have this on good authority, so I won't waste a lot of time arguing with you on this one. I think we all know how that usually ends up.

At any rate the suits were in motion by then, and I know Morrissey is a very conniving, sneaky bastard who uses people he feels he can get something from, so what you say is plausible.

I do know that in The Jewel In The Crown Craig Gannon says he was on the verge of writing with Morrissey again and that Morrissey said, "I'd like to work with you and use your songs but the only thing is, you'll have to drop your lawsuit."

So actually yeah, the more I think about it the more inclined I am to believe you.

And yes, I realize you don't care whether or not I believe you.

Saved you a post!

I thought that song sucked dead dog's dicks for the longest time but it's really grown on me.

Or maybe my standards have lowered, one.

I blame it on your boner for Kristeen Young...

Well, that was mighty white of you...

I haven't had that particular boner for quite a little while now.

Gannon should have dropped the lawsuit...I'm sure he stood a better chance of making more than $30,000 (which is all he got) as a future songwriting partner.

What's Fabio got to do with a shitty movie about aliens?

Actually I kind of don't hate that movie.

It's sad when people get to the age where they can't remember things...especially things that happened within the last 3 posts on a message board.

Is it because that dying chick was pinned to a tree when she said "swing away" and I mentioned a tree?

I still don't get the Fabio thing, but I'm tired.
