Smiths stuff on BBC Xmas TV

Christmas Eve / Christmas Day morning BBC1 has 'Carry On Cleo' featuring the scene where
'Anthony said to Cleopatra, as he opened a crate of ale'
'Oh I say!'

And Christmas Day / Boxing Day morning BBC2 has 'I love the 80's'.
This one is 1984 and I am pretty sure this episode features (although too briefly) a piece on The Smiths.

Dont forget to 'Feed the Goat' at Xmas.

FEED THE GOAT AND HE WILL SCORE ;-))

This is a myth, no such lines were uttered and at no point in the film is a crate of ale opened

Well researced as ever....

The Cleo thing is indeed a total myth!

English Scheme is right. As it says in Songs That Saved Your Life, the Carry On Cleo thing is a myth and the scene doesnt exist. Although as it also says, Hawtrey does say "stop me if you think youve heard this one before" so there is a link

A programme called re:covered is on in the early hours all through this week. The Doves do 'please please please'. Monday night ( tuesday morning). I think. It might be another day. Check your TV guide.

But at least Amanda Barrie is in it... You could cobble together some link with "Coronation Street", Alma Matters etc.
