You realize that Britney really will cover Sinead, though, right? It'll happen. Her "serious" side will emerge on an album of covers. I figure we'll hear Sinead, Pat Benatar, Sarah Maclachlan, maybe Cyndi Lauper, Madonna (of course) and Billie Holiday. Throw in Streisand, too, maybe even Janis Joplin.
EW: So Britney, why the covers album?
Britney: "I wanted to say 'Thank you' to the ladies who helped pave the way for artists like myself. I so worship them and hope to introduce them to a new generation of fans. And I think it's time my career evolved into a new stage of creativity. I'm not a girl anymore, you know? I want to surprise my fans with a different side of me as I continue on this amazing journey."
