Boycott Morrissey Concert Until He Lifts the Ban on David

Yea... Idk anymore. I like David and its kind of mean... I like your website Comtesse & your invaluable contributions over the years...

I think you should keep it up for awhile bc maybe well get more word. Just bc your website is awesome.

But honestly I really believe in character & I believe in being nice to ppl... the nature of this website is, just the way it is. Ppl like it... u could say well davids being mean by allowing stuff, but not really. Free speech and public figure. As far as his house address goes, oh come on, all actors and actresses have their house addresses somewhere. Ppl just wanna feel the magic and hope to get a glimpse of the star.

The dls aren't even him. All ppl have to do is google that stuff. What about limeware or whatever. I don't even think lots of fans do that bc we like to have the cd. I don't. Don't want the virus.

As far as the letter to his record label, I didn't even see it. But he shouldn't be worried about it. Honestly who hasn't fire off a questionable email and lived to regret it.

Id suggest morrissey just enjoy the love and attention.

Honestly I don't think I can go to his shows enjoying it with davids plight in back of my mind. Its just how I am made... I've been a fan for 20 yrs now. Well morrissey will always have that place in my life. But the dave thing has dissappointed me a lot.

Its his site sweetie, he should manage it and not let these things happen- that is the point.
Funny his happened the same week as the News international meltdown- something in the air

Are you going to take down your site? :(

Oh, no - I'll never do that! I still passionately love young Morrissey and The Smiths. (You know, the charming man that modern Moz has said he would despise.) I still even love some aspects of this modern grumpy man calling himself Morrissey. I just don't respect him as a person anymore. Unlike the followers of the Church Of Morrissey, I can separate the music from the man and recognize when he has done something worthy of derision.

Hi Vauxhall and everyone,

Do you have the link to the article/story/thread where Morrissey was laughing at his "most ardent fans."?

Thanks

Interesting... I went looking for it and the link has been pulled down. So, I copied the URL address, pasted it into Google and loaded the "cached" version of the page, et viola:

The Morrissey Solo Loony Forum: Chinese Whispers & Kleenex

"Very odd that, following my last comments here--and bear in mind, Bret ONLY attacks when first attacked--so many Morrissey Forum Loonies say how much they hate me and how I am not worth wasting time talking about--then promptly send me 100 emails in just two hours, and leave almost as many comments on their Forum. What a funny little bunch they are--and so unimaginative that they cannot use their own names, but must have some Morrissey-related monicker: Stephen, Celibate, etc. Then there are SO many people called Anonymous--guess at some stage there must have been some kind of mass breeding ritual among their parents when Daddy decided not to wipe it down his shirt after all! Then there is Skylarker, Ugly Mugs, Moby, the list is endless. They call me ugly, yet so many of them look like the backs of buses. Meaningless little people. Morrissey is on what little brains they have 24 hours a day. You see them standing outside the theatres looking like death warmed up.

Had a very pleasant evening, a few years back now, with The Morrissey Gang--the band, technicians, etc, along with their girlfriends and wives. Two very famous popstars and a gay porn star. Morrissey had just shrugged off the most unwelcome advances of three very creepy fans: David Tseng, Winnie Wong and Russ Seekatz. Mr Tseng, a 50-something Chinese American, liked to think he know more about Morrissey than the singer about himself. But all in all, likeable enough. Winnie Wong we just took the piss out of because she was taller sitting down than she was standing up--and particularly when she asked Morrissey if he wanted her phone number and he cracked that she might "wing the wong number". Russ Seekatz, looking like he'd just got out of a coffin. Some of the band were joking about how much they would have to be paid to "give Winnie one", and ultimately agreed that a "hand shandy" would be more in order. The porn star quipped about Russ Seekatz, "A good shag would kill him!" One of the lighting men said that Morrissey had been in a grumpy mood all evening, but "pissed himself laughing" when someone had suggested smuggling a naked Winnie into his dressing room. Then Morrissey came in and joined in with the conversation and--well, let's just say he isn't as keen on some of these fans as they are on him."

*** For the record, when I first read this I thought it was total b.s. After the events of the last week, I've concluded it's at least plausible. I know it must be terrible to be massively adored, wealthy, and to have fans wanting to meet you and get their picture taken with you. I just wonder if deriding the very people who keep you living in the manner to which you have become accustomed isn't a pretty shitty thing to do?

*sigh*

This is hoax, ffs.

Which part? Are you saying Bret's blog was hacked? The original rant about Morrissey-Solo (with the same picture) is still up on his website, so you're writing that his rebuttal was a "hoax?" Did he post a retraction?

http://www.davidbret.co.uk/blog/?row=3

Wait, first you wrote this was a "hoax," then you edited the post and it is now an exaggeration? He knows members names, relates events... Like I wrote originally, I thought it was b.s., now I wonder.

I'm curious: how are you so sure? Just a shot in the dark here, you don't happen to be in the photo? If you were, I would understand. Personal attacks based on personal appearances are really weak.

Ooops, my brain wasn't working properly, I couldn't get a right word.

I have no idea about other two people, but David doesn't look a 50 years old man.

Bret seems to write things far-fetched and twisted in order to catch others' attention.

Oh my, this guy is just awful. Reading his stuff was detestable experience. Some ppl will do or say anything for $.

I owned his book yrs back and never read it. Got thru a few pages and didn't hold my interest.

Didn't Morrissey say he hopes he dies in a pile up? How does he feel about this guy? How did he end up hanging out with this guy?

Anyway just awful.

I'm not sure I believe it... just be its written in sch a demeaning way. If david bret was like, hey guys, I really want to tell you this for your own good, I might believe it. Instead he intentionally putting down ppl, like he wants to really hurt them and pour salt in the wound, like he gets off on it.

Thanks Vauxhall for finding this info.

Well idk... I've never bothered to try and meet Morrissey myself, even tho a couple ppl offered to figure out a way.. I don't think id want to just bc I don't think wed have much in common, other than being vegetarians. I'm way too shy & would make bad company.

I really admire ppl who have the guts to go right up to him and put themselves out there tho. I love hearing stories about other ppl, how they met him and their pictures. :)

Was just thinking that David might have a chance to see Moz at a festival in the future, if he was inclined to give it a try. Odds of Morrissey's goons being able to monitor a large festival grounds like Coachella, Lollapalooza, Glasto, etc. would be pretty slim.

There's nothing they could do anyway, even if he was stood in the front row

Why does David Brett need to write this?

I cannot and will not answer this, because I was not there. What I can do is draw attention to the two tracker dogs, alleged to be 100 % effective in previous police investigations. These dogs, the Portugues police say, sniffed out evidence that a corpse had been hidden in the McCanns' apartment and car. The Portugues police also believed, back in 2007, that Maddie had died accidentally, and that while Kate Healy may have wanted to go to the police, her husband forced her to help him hide Maddie's body. The Portuguese police also believe that the story of an abduction was made up, so that Maddie's parents could cover their tracks. I'm not saying this is what happened--just what one source revealed to The Daily Telegraph. So if Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns' spokesman, wants to sue me for this, he will have to also sue the newspaper from which I copied it.

The McCanns have also allegedly hampered the police investigations here and in Portugal by steadfastly refusing to answer certain and many questions--questions which on the surface seem very pertinent. Why? And why have their statements and those of their witnesses--particularly Jane Tanner--been so very inconsistent. One could imagine this happening to questions asked four years after the event, but these "blips" occurred within days and sometimes even hours after the little girl disappeared. Nothing will alter the fact that three children--just two, if Maddie was already dead--were neglected by their parents--an act for which no action has been taken. Were this a couple from a council estate in Barnsley or Hackney, would not Social Services have been involved?

This is a sad, sad affair. I for one believe that Madeleine McCann is dead. I believe this solely on the evidence of those tracker dogs. How and when she died, I cannot say but only summise. Whatever happened, the culpability rests solely with their parents for leaving them unattended!

I can't decide myself whether I am revolted by his opinion ... or whether he is writing this in the public interest .... but I am curious as to why he should feel the need to write it in the first place.

Let's roll with the idea this is accurate...

You know what I found funniest about this: The nastiest remarks seem to have come from a gay porn star and a lighting guy. Oh, there's some talent there! Perhaps they like making fun of people because they have nothing better in their lives? A whore and a...well...techie (important as they may be, let's be serious as to their level of fame and fortune. Always holding the spotlight and never being in it.).

Even Linder Sterling seemed to embarrassingly admit in The Importance of Being Morrissey that any time spent with Morrissey turns into a session in "character assassination." And, well, we've always known how much he thought of himself when he was younger (not much, despite the bravado to the contrary). In short, a group of sad people making fun of other people just to make themselves seem smarter and better.

Others have said this is typical of Morrissey when he gets drunk with the band. Typical "frat boy" behavior. Maybe that's why he's so loyal to them though -- they all can talk so much smack about him when their time to be alienated comes (just as so many have before when they are excommunicated). Little do they know they'll be the topic of derision in due time. This is how things work with people who have little sense of self-worth. They think snuffing someone else's candle somehow makes theirs burn brighter.

Like I wrote, I paid zero credence to this when it came out. It only came to mind after this week's events. I really hope it isn't true. The whole mental picture of the event he describes is bizarre.

I find it interesting that he pulled it down? That the only way to find it is by finding a cached version on a Google server somewhere. Strange...

David Brett on the McCann's

@Bluebirds
Yes ... I chanced upon it and was astonished. His blog is ... ugh ... a real eyesore in every respect.

How can anyone give credence to anything David Brett writes?

Right, that really takes the biscuit. For posting this picture (Madeleine McCann smoking), David Brett surely proves himself to be nothing more than a vacuous hatemonger.
http://www.davidbret.co.uk/news_63527.html
I had never seen it before but I have now spent far too long on that stupid 'blog' than is healthy.

Re: How can anyone give credence to anything David Brett writes?

I don't think it is necessary to boycott him because of this latest incident.
I believe that given enough rope, he will eventually hang himself..

As a fan since 1985, I really do hate to see that happen.
