How long before another record deal that he'll be tempted by? Eeek!

Oh Merck, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? [or rather NOT DONE]

Not long, he is in a very strong position at the moment. Before the last album he did not have an upper hand, now he does. I think he must know this? Does anyone know whether he is tied in to release more albums with sanctuary? Because if he is, then the buy out or a stale mate situation may hamper new material being released.

He reckons not according to that statement, but isn't it very unusual for a record company to sign someone without a tie in for further albums?

The deal was for one album.

Isn't that the new signing?

I couldn't understand exactly what "new signing" meant in Morrissey's text. Signing a new contract with Sanctuary, or signing with another label altogether?

"...but I can’t pull out if I’ve never been in in the first place" is a classic.

Or signing a new musician/writer. Or signing records at the megastore.

I really doubt that last one , Kenneth Barlow.
