A couple of those songs are better compositions than the sound of the recordings would suggest imo.

The single mix of All the Young People is certainly superior to the album version.

And Kit had the potential to be a decent song.

ICUWPL is better than the vast majority of songs included on his last four or five albums. Absolutely heartbreaking. Impossible to fathom the disrespect shown towards this gem of a song.

I think it was filmed for Mexican television, and it’s got the band members in identical baby blue jumpsuits doing finger-snaps and side-steps. At least one of them must’ve been grumbling to himself, “is this indignity really worth the paycheck?” In retrospect, I’m glad Boz Boorer had to suffer the embarrassment, since with his age and his heft he looks goofiest of them all. That’s what you get for not being a vegetarian, Boorer. But I tried to judge the song on its own merits. I still don’t like it. The “‘Dad Rock with World Music flourishes’ busted flush” phase.

As the anon has already posted, Boz Boorer recently announced that he and his wife eat meat, in making a snide Twitter comment about vegan graffiti in Portgual. But I wonder what the (dietary) status is of the other band members. Tobias, at least, I would think is vegan. I always thought Morrissey would be totalitarian about it regarding people in his employ. "If I even catch so much as a whiff of gossip that you've been eating meat ... "

Hmm - I don't know if he is now, but I remember a group of us fans spotting him in a seafood restaurant around the time Moz was making his 'sea life, not seafood' comments. To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if the majority of the band & crew are secret meat eaters, but just do their best to be sneaky about it and not to do it anywhere in his presence.

Well, I’ll be damned. I’m surprised. Surprised he eats meat, and surprised that he flaunts it like this.

I’m sure Alain is vegetarian, and Tobias, definitely.

Perfectly forgivable when it's a good song, and when you're not dressed in powder blue janitor's uniforms. And when you're there to provide backing vocals. They're having a good time, even if it's done for show. Morrissey's people looked like there was a gun to their heads. "Please God, don't let my girlfriend or my grandmother see this."
