Soz if you thought I was going to astound you all with knowledge of further new Moz tracks. I'm listening to the ones we already know about and wondered what people's favourites are. I've ranked them in order of my preference

1. First Of The Gang To Die

2. Irish Blood, English Heart

3. The World is Full Of Crashing Bores

4. I Like You

5. Mexico

6. Melanie

(only kidding about the last one )

I'm sorry, I just can't get into the other songs. They don't do anything for me at all.

1. Irish Blood English Heart - Moz makes a statement and rocks doing it, this song will have a Speedway like eternal presence in his live set.

2. First Of The Gang - Wicked vocal melody, much like like Ralph Malph our old man's still got it.

3. Crashing Bores - Sentiment is painfully obvious, but this track has grown on me a lot.

4. I Like You - Needs to ditch the brooding intro guitar part in my opinion

and open with the riff straight away.

5. Mexico - Changing a couple heavy handed lyrics would improve this so

much for me.

I also enjoyed "Nothing Rhymed" the Gilbert O'Sullivan cover and would like to see this, Trash, and My Insatiable One released officially with quality sound. It'd be cool to have these tasteful covers in one place NO?!?

I have a soft spot for Melanie myself, even if it is fake.

1) Irish Blood, English Heart
2) The First Of The Gang To Die
3) I Like You
4) The World Is Full Of Crashing Bores

Mexico does not even make the list. Boring, silly song, I thought. I liked it at first, but I think that was just in my "all is well in the world," natural high I was feeling around concert time. I like all of the other songs, more or less. Even so, if I were to make a list of my favorite Morrissey solo songs of all time, none of them would make the cut. If I were to rank all of his solo songs from best to worst, they'd all hover around the middle or maybe lower. I can't wait to hear the studio versions though. The songs aren't plodding or anything, but they could do with some speeding up and some tightening up. I'm young. I like fast songs or at least mid tempo, danceable ones (even though I don't dance). So I blame that.

Does this mean we are soulmates, J?
