I think Morrissey could probably buy BOT back but he doesn’t want to do that for some reason. If the contract is ‘terminated’ then Capitol probably can’t release it either.

Dunno what has happened with Miley. From what Morrissey was saying, it seemed she needed to be removed out of respect for some personal spat. So is she on or off the record?

I’m lined up for some more live excitement in the summer but I have found these album ordeals very trying, but it’s not about me is it.

It is indeed Norbury and M’s nose has been out out of joint by the signing of JM. The fact that JM is on the way up and M is on the way down (after a very successful and lucrative career) screams of jealousy and M should do the right thing and just leave it now. He’s alienated every record company and the odds of him getting the deal he wants have now disappeared. Just do a couple of Best Of dates a year to keep up with paying SER’s expenses and have done with it. He’s achieved everything he wanted in life, what is left isn’t worth chasing. I would disagree with this, honestly - in part.

Not that it would not be interesting, but there's no point expecting M to appear in a cooking programme with vegan buns and handcarved patterns in cabbages.

He's never really done his own website, and the "interactions" he wants with his fans is via his art (music, recorded and live - mainly) - and that's also where his iconic status comes from. We've had the irregular Q&A via True To You in the past ... all very well but he's not a "celebrity" who shows cars and cribs and then take the camera crew to a private party somewhere under the sun. It's rather unlikely we'd see any changes in that direction - after all, it wouldn't be M if he has to lose the freedom to be himself and do exactly what he wants. It's still this burning determination of a complete self-made artist that got him to be where he is, and was.

He is indeed an artist who has the status of an international cultural icon. And people may like him or his music, or not - still, there's no point ignoring that he is indeed an icon. He deserves, for that reason alone, a record label, proper management, radio promo and support, clever and intelligent journalists.

He's a proper monument, and it's about time that the UK takes care of its monuments - if it works for Stonehenge, it surely must be possible for other fine and more contemporary parts of British heritage... ?

It's not useful to expect M to have to change - but at least at this point in time, you could expect someone to stand up and care a little bit more, a little bit longer.

If the UK's current "cultural establishment" is serious about their recognition of the genius of Oscar Wilde ... would they allow the same mistake to be made again, or is it just a bunch of ignorant hypocrites?

Time will tell.
