I spent a most enjoyable evening last night across the water.
No, not that far.
The Mersey River.
Guess what, no one felt the need to evict me or throw their drinks at me.
Maybe they no nothing of my past (very very recent) record of causing a commotion.
Or maybe, they had never been to a Morrissey concert.
Anyway, most enjoyable.
Billy boy lives on.

Would have been 65 apparently. Ed "Stew-pot" Stewart had Billy featured as artist of the week on his show on Sunday. Someone sent him a fax saying that Billy wasn't born in 1941, but it was 1940 really. Larry Parnes changed his age to make Billy a year younger to Billy's fans.

When I think about Morrissey selecting '"I Will" for his 'top ten' singles in 1984 I find it quite amazing, and very sad that Billy had fairly recently died, aged just 42. In 1984 sixties music sounded so very old to my ears.

I Want To Be Your Lover....

But your friend is all I've stayed
I'm only halfway to paradise
So near, yet so far away

I long for your lips to kiss my lips
But just when I think they may
You lead me halfway to paradise
So near, yet so far away, mmm

Got this on the original vinyl... He was so handsome!!!
