I have noticed that Morrissey has been wearing jewlery for years.

I read somewhere that it was a "Northern tradition"
and a working class kind of thing ?

Its neither a Northern or working class thing as such. Though, to save time for people from outside the UK when people write "Northern" it tends to be shorthand for working class and "southern" tends to be shorthand for Middle class.

Moz has liked to drape himself in jewellery (of sorts) since the smiths days, its just that as the years went by the jewellery, became more expensive. I have found that as men get richer and more wealthy they tend to wear more jewellery (moz is in this camp)- most of the time it looks vulgar.
Russell Brand for one wears a lot of "bling" and he is a middle class lad. There are others I could name (and not shame) but I am tired.

Well, there's a thing i have never heard before.
