Shame on you. Delete one for "Positively 4th Street" Bob Dylan.

> 6 - Bread - If

David Gates is a native Tulsan... I am fairly positive that his son attended school with my older brother.

I did buy Breads Greatest Hits Album

I think my fave was not "if" as kojak made a lolly out of it, can't remember the name of my favourite of theirs but it was definitely not if.

I don't remember that song, though I am sure to have heard it many times... could you hum it for me?

The song 'If' on Pink Floyd's "Atom Heart Mother" lp is lovely.

ha ha ha, maybe it will all come back to me in my dreams. As for now..NOTHING. Night Cod.

Scott Walker- AMSTERDAM. Go on my son.

Have you got the album Scott Wlaker sings Jacques Brel per chance? I LOVE THAT ALBUM.

Birdland?!! I didn't think anyone remembered them. The only person I remember championing them was Rodney on the Roq...

GODHEAD!!!

What's the name of that album?
Do you have a tracklist?

It's on Fontana, and is called "Scott Walker Sings Jacques Brel"

1: Mathilde
2: Amsterdam
3: Jackie (La Chanson De Jacky)
4: My Death (La Mort)
5: Next (Le Prochain Amour?)
6: The Girls And The Dogs (Les Filles Et Les Chiens)
7: If You Go Away (Ne Me Quitte Pas)
8: Funeral Tango (Le Tango Funebre)
9: Sons Of (Fils De)

The lyrics were translated into English by Mort Shuman. Each song a gem.

Thanks, when was the album released?
Are Funeral Tango and If You Go Away the same as on Scott 3?

The original album was released in 1981 with a different cover to that on the current CD. I believe Funeral Tango and If You Go Away are the same ones on Scott 3. Sons Of is also on Scott 3.

Bread are rated alongside The Smiths and Moz in my books, at the top!
I always thought my taste had been bizzare (liking Bread as well as Moz)... nice to see them in there!

Simple tunes, great voice, lyrics a bit odd sometimes, but the overall effect is luvverly. The Guitar Man, Everything I Own, Beby I'm A Want You, Make It With You - top notch. Either that or I'm just getting old.

Brilliant! Thanks so much. It's one of the most lyrically disturbing songs I've ever heard, and his voice makes it work so well. Ta again.
