Not a great year so far really. I'm probably forgetting something, though. This should hopefully be a good way of hearing about albums we might not have otherwise, so please post yours.

will get a mention at the end of '06:

morrissey - ringleader of the tormentors
pearl jam - pearl jam
belle & sebastian - the life pursuit
cat power - the greatest
the divine comedy - victory for the comic muse
twilight singers - powder burns
bruce springsteen - seeger sessions
mogwai - mr beast

still have to hear the new NYD and Murder By Death...Hope they're not a disappointement.
I agree, not a good year. I've got more "average" feelings than really a "blown off my socks"...

I predict The Decemberist's upcoming "The Crane Wife" will make it's way towards the top of the list when it's released in October!

In no particular order:

Morrissey - Ringleader Of The Tormentors
Pet Shop Boys - Fundamental
The Flaming Lips - At War With The Mystics
Johnny Cash - American V: A Hundred Highways
Frank Black - Fast Man Raider Man

Looking over what I've got actually, there haven't been that many cracking albums this year thus far, at least in my own collection. A fair few I'm looking forward to, though. The two that I keep returning to are the PSB one and the Frank Black one (played ROTT to death already I fear!) A lot of albums I'm interested in investigating have also popped up several times in this thread, so that's always a reassuring time too!

faster pussycat - the power & the glory hole
mexican cheerleader - mexican mystery tour
smart brown handbag - harry larry
morrissey - ringleader of the tormentors
das kapital - denying the west
the streets - the hardest way to make an easy living
bullets and octane - in the mouth of the young
beth orton - comfort of strangers

looking forward to...

storybook funeral - debut
