Vibraphone player on Kill Uncle

bored

not bitter but bored
This is for people who really like irrelevant trivia....

In search for the mystery guitar player in the Sing You Life Video which was posted in another thread I came across a name I had never heard of before.

Roger Beaujolais.
He is a vibraphone player. What's that you ask? Me too...

His bio is here:

Here is where he mentions he was uncredited on Asian Rut and Sing Your Life:

In case you don't feel like going to the link here is the entire entry:

Morrissey - 'Kill Uncle' on EMI Records. I'm on 2 tracks: "Asian Rut" & "Sing Your Life". For some reason I'm not mentioned in the album credits.

I know it's not amazing news or anything like that but I was surprised that searching this site his name didn't come up at all.

I agree it's not amazing but that's a curious thing - mainly for not being mentioned on the album credits.

I read in Johnny Rogan's book "Morrissey - The Albums" that Moz didn't want Roger's name to appear on the album credits as he thought it sounded stupid, "we'll have him but not his name".

Also Moz wouldn't have keyboardist Steve Nieve's name on the credits too for the same reason, so it was changed to Steve Heart.

I wonder if he really shares the same name as the wine or if it's like his vibraphone stage name?

Maybe he didn't want his gang to be associated with having thin skin. :p

Rock 'n' Roll Battle is serious stuff.

Interesting.. is that also in the Rogan book? I clearly need to re-read it.

Thanks for the info. Good stuff.
