Question about WDDIM

Is it true that The Smiths stopped playing What Difference Does It Make after 1984? None of my bootlegs past that year have the song, I was wondering, is there a reason behind it? Or did they continue to perform it?

I also have a concert where it sounds like they're tuning up for the song and then Moz says "We don't play that one anymore."

I think they just got sick of it. Apparently Johnny was unhappy with the final studio version of it.

This was one of Morrissey's least favourite releases; I remember an old interview when he said something along the lines of "I was never happy with the production since day-one". This is a shame as I think it's brilliant, the ending is sublime.

Think I'd read somewhere that Morrissey didn't like the track because it was "rockist". Its one of Johnny's coolest riffs!

Moz, Joyce and Rourke preferred to play the version from Hatful of Hollow and Marr and John Porter preferred the single version.
