Someday, Suzanne...someday...

Um, yeah I am. Back in CT, I was 7 min. away from the beach.
Here, I'm a good 600 miles away.

Ahhh, yes...I think I recall your having mentioned that.

I have a local address, but they only accept drivers licenses, not gas and electric bills.

I REFUSE to get a KY drivers license - I have commitment issues.

> i told ya...you'll be a banjo-pickin hillbilly in no time.

We all need goals, I suppose.

oh the tiny dreams of life that slowly eke away....

ah. well, i have no sense of geography. My brain does not recognize a sizeable area of the US when you get outside of Arkansas. You basically are writing from some unknown limbo. it could be seance for all i know.

you can have both.

wait, that was a song, wasn't it?

i think it should be like bottle caps. collect them all.

i've never lived out of state before so i don't know the indignity of not having a TX driver's license.

no, but here is something disturbing. i went to my local best buy today, finally managed to acquire the simon and garfunkle album i've been looking for, which i'm listening to now and am aiming for mellow as i need it for some reason, but I saw no trace of Morrissey albums. anywhere. Not even the little card placquard with his name on it. not even a best of CD, and not even those CD's being stuck in with Van morrison.

i saw Rammstein. I would think Rammstein would be a lot more obscure than our bud, but it looks like maybe that store has shrunk their pop/rock CD collection and have expanded stuff in the other categories.

looks like stores everywhere have expanded the latino music aisle.

> We all need goals, I suppose.

if it wasn't for the hillbillies, O Brother, Where art thou? would be a boring film.

Yup, that's Louisville.

Y'know, I've gone through the same frustration around here with the band X - not even acknowledged on a plaquard. wtf?

It's a fad. This, too, shall pass.

So would Deliverance!

That wasn't what he wrote. I wouldn't call him on SLANDER for something so simple.

I know I look like an idiot to you, Suzie, but give me a break. I have a big enough brain to have the idea that slander would be an appropriate word for describing what he was doing. I have my reasons people; there is no reason to keep this crap up.

How 'bout a new subject? Dosn't it feel good to deposit money into the ol' bank account?

My twin had an employee once who went from wanting to be paid in cash to wanting to be paid in gold bouillon. Freaks. He was 'let go' pretty much after THAT request.

BTW, I saw that comment on LA and the surrounding parts of California being too boring for you- how did you put it, Suzie? Something about the entertainment ending with the Hollywood sets and shopping? I dunno, having lived here all my life- and traveling a tremendous amount as well- I would say that our state has quite a bit more to offer than that. Ever hear of the Museum of Tolerance? The MOMA? The wineries? Just to name a few.

Gotta go!

Laura

P.S. If this seems like a bit of a jumbling of thoughts, it is!

Re: YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!!!!.....Sorry, I HAD To Do That

most normal people wouldnt as there is no reason to!

trip 1 is complete. Overall, I feel better today. I might feel even better if I didn't have nutty people in my group waving their rapiers around at me, tho.

maybe the weather was improved this time around. maybe it's coz i had people with me that i was friendlier with.

> Yup, that's Louisville.

it used to not be that way. i've seen it before in the past, that i'm sure of even if nothing more than the fact that Best Buy is usually pretty decent about catering to people with that sort of taste...but maybe even they are renovating themselves.

> It's a fad. This, too, shall pass.

that's not how i meant it.

Anyhow, the whole "latino trend" as per middlebrow america has pretty much passed.

most of the stores here stock it with actual music recorded entirely in spanish. i think they might be finally recognizing the money that can be made off of it.

> So would Deliverance!

so, embrace the hillbilly within you!

Re: YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH! lifeguard peeping

and i'm not quite dead yet! So i must have done something right.

so, i finally found the cool part of california. I'll say more later, but I REALLY need to unwind....aka do something that involves lots of moving around. Not that I did anything particularly stressful or gotten beaten or mugged or had sugar shock from Ghirardelli, but ya know how it is when you've been sitting on a plane all damn day long....

,...but the nice touch was last night. ya know. your left arch hurting from walking, a small migraine headache which might actually be a slight stomach virus because ya feel ill, and you can't stare at the TV at the Econolodge coz if you turn up the volume to any audible level, the screen flickers, so there ya lay for about 8 hours, listening to an endless parade of bad movies...Miss Congeniality being the worst offender...and then, there he is. George Carlin!

God Bless HBO!!!!

Oooooh, can't wait!

Do you still keep an online journal on here? I haven't checked it since August. (!)

Eww.

So wait...are you back from your vacation?

yeah, well, actually, that's where i put it.

the journal is a natural preserve. no littering allowed, and visitors take only pictures and leave only footprints.

> Eww.

why does that woman have to make so many damn movies about how beautiful she is?

The funniest thing is that none of the beauty contestants casted were actually that pretty, and her "pageant buddy" whom she befriended had really bad hair. professional jealousy, perhaps?

And despite the heartfelt message of "beauty contests are not anti-feminist", it spent the entire movie completely undermining it worse than what I had already thought about beauty contests.

not that i necessarily hate them, as I used to wish I could be Miss America!

But let's see...you are a woman who is trained by consultants to answer and do things in ways that the judges approve of, and whose "interview" questions are expected to be answered in innocuous terms which are ultimately judged on how much poise you had in answering as opposed to looking at the content of the message....yeah, i would say it's not feminist at all.

but there is a time and place for it.

> So wait...are you back from your vacation?

oh @#!!! yeah. that was quick, wasn't it?

but long enough to have full-out jet lag this morning. I woke up confused, and stayed in this disoriented cloud for about 3 hours afterwards, leaving my access badge at the house, not being able to find the new parking garage, and getting confused about what I was doing when I was seperating reports I had been doing for about 3 years now.

i'm better now...

although, i have to admit that I was hoping when I returned that i would find some moz news other than the fact that his best of...CD sold about 2,000 copies.

And you really want us to believe that? What a great excuse to hide the fact that your trip just happened in your mind.
