Liam Fray (Courteeners) performs 'There is a light...'

Re: Liam Fray (Courteeners) performs 'There is a light.....' Clip of when they did it at The Courteeners gig in Liverpool in March, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucbDlg91GDE I'd love him to play it at the GMEX on Friday. Anyone heard there new song...

    Morrissey slammed for glamourising suicide

Exactly. It's an opinion - at least he has one. If it perturbs Daile Express readers, then thats an added bonus.

    Is Morrissey OK?

He looked and sounded absolutely fine to me, and seemed to be enjoying it. The crowd, where I was at least, were really up for it. Great gig. Probably the best of the three i've been to (the other two being first night of Brixton and RAH).

Which song is much better live ?

The live version of 'Jack The Ripper' definitely. Would love him to play that at RAH. 'The Loop' also sounds much better live.

Morrissey should do a cover version of...

Am I the only one who thinks that Moz would do a great version of Dizzee Rascal's 'Bonkers'?

Morrissey Coachella on 'Never mind the Buzzcocks'

Re: Morrissey Coachella on Buzzcocks That guy from The Enemy is an utter c*nt. The Dizzee Rascal joke was very cheap.

Do you listen to music Morrissey likes?

Big fan of The Courteeners. Mozzer got it spot on with them. Seeing them in Manchester in December, supported by Buzzcocks.

    Will Morrissey ever walk alone?

Despite the fact that YNWA was actually first sung by Manchester United fans after the Munich Air Disaster (which Mozza did an excellent tribute song for), it is now commonly associated with Liverpool. For that reason, I think I would throw up were Morrissey to ever sing it.

    Merriweather threatened over Smiths track

I'm quite ambivelant towards it tbh. What I do find strange is the added lyrics at the end - cover the song if you like, but don't f*** about with the lyrics.

    Film 'Looking For Eric' Compilation

You've clearly got your wires crossed somewhere, as the film actually has very little to do with football; Cantona isn't actually in that many scenes. It's primarily about a middle aged man in crisis, and covers various social issues and themes, as with any Loach film. You don't need to know...

    Film 'Looking For Eric' Compilation

Thats the one, thanks. There are definite similarities between the two in terms of the Manchester connection, there enigmatic nature and mythical status.

    Film 'Looking For Eric' Compilation

What a friend we have in Jesus...and his name is CANTONA! Ooh Aah Cantona! The film is meant to be absolutely outstanding. There's a photo out there somewhere of Morrissey wearing a t-shirt with Eric on, and Eric has recently talked in 4-4-2 magazine of his love of The Smiths.

    It may disturb you but..

At first I didn't think much of it but its come to be my favourite song on 'Years of Refusal'. This performance of it at the Birthday gig is brilliant, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEk_w6abtxw I love the defiance and gesticulation where he says the line 'This might make you throw up...

Morrissey and the world of politics: how clued up is he? Let's have a heated debate!

Re: Morrissey and the world of politics: how clued up is he? Let's have a heated deba How does saying 'God Bless Israel' show a 'stupendous amount of insensitivity about Middle Eastern politics'? It's a legitimate, democratic, avanced, largely secular country, who if there is a...
