The Anne Marie Waters comment at the Berlin gig last year – strike one.
The Berlin-rape-capital-of-the-world-comment - strike two.
This "interview" – and he's out.
Actually this has been coming for a few years but it has escalated this last year. It's impossible to give him the benefit of a...
Morrissey is turning more and more into Brigitte Bardot for each passing day. This document (I can't call it an interview since the questions obviously were penned by Morrissey himself) is a complete and utter disgrace. It can not be denied anymore – I can not deny it anymore – that Morrissey is...
The first person that arrives at the venue makes a queueing list and when a new person shows up to queue he/she writes his/her name on the list and gets a place in the queue. And an hour or two before the doors open the queue is organized in the right order (at most 40-50 names). Those who...
I saw Morrissey at Columbiahalle in Berlin 2014 and started queuing at about 10 a.m. and was somewhere around places 15-20 on the list. And if you want a place in the front row I'd recommend queuing at latest around noon or soon afterwards. As for the list. Of course you can leave the queue for...
Morrissey was introduced on stage by Swedish actor Andreas Wilson of the film Ondskan, whom Morrissey mentions on page 384 of Autobiography (which Wilson didn't fail to point out). A great gig and a very good setlist. Especially enjoyed hearing What She Said. Morrissey was very talkative and...
This scene is extraordinary. The opening sequence of Bela Tarr's The Turin Horse. Jump forward 90 seconds.
To create this feeling of velocity, doom and suspense by just filming a work horse and it's peasant driver is just incredible. It feels like he is reinventing the art of...
Will Never Marry, Now My Heart Is Full, My Dearest Love!
He must come back to Europe (hopefully Scandinavia) with this setlist this year! I would kill to hear him sing these songs live.
I don't understand all the negativity towards Buffy. I think it's a great choice. Too bad she didn't support Morrissey during the European tour a few months back. 'My Country 'tis of thy people you're dying are one of the best protest songs ever written.
You forgot Trouble Loves Me! Arguably his best song ever (including The Smiths), unarguably his best lyrics ever. Hearing this song live just leaves me devastated. "Please fulfill me me/Somebody kill me".
I've read all of his novels and he hates arabs just as much as he hates Islam, if not more. The novel The Possibility of an Island showcases his feelings towards muslims at best. It's his worst novel though.

What I may risk calling our best tour ever ... has now ended, and my written words of thanks to all who came along to watch and listen are strong enough to burn a hole through the North Pole.
It is gratifying to have...
I think it's plausible that the lyrics could tell the story of someone being operated on and lying (dying) in a hospital bed. It fits quite well with verses 2, 3, 4, 7 and 8. But verses 1, 5 and 6 don't fit this interpretation at all. But still – it's intriguing to interpret the lyrics as being...
I actually started a thread about the lyrics to this song back in July when the album was released. If you're interested: http://www.morrissey-solo.com/threads/131772-Lyrics-to-Smiler-With-Knife
