Impressions of Ringleader of the Tormentors after the listening party in Stockholm, January 12th 2006.

Sorry about all the grammatical errors and all that stuff, but I’m on a real buzz right now and English isn’t my first language anyway so.... But I thought that this could be interesting for quite a few people out there.

So. Finally. The Big Day came. After a sleepless night 15-odd of us (journalists, pop stars and well known die hard fans of the Moz) finally got to sit in the office of SonyBMG Sweden for a listening session of Ringleader.

After a few words from the man from Sanctuary UK about how Sweden is one of Morrissey's best countries they actually put the record into the stereo. Here is my track by track thoughts of it:

I was reading the news in an Argentinian newspaper website (www.clarin.com). Every Friday they put a section called "Si!" (YES, in English) with music related articles (most of them).

Today (January 13) they presented an interview with Peter Hook, who play bass on New Order, and is actually on tour as a DJ. The mentioned interview was made in Punta del Este, Uruguay. When he was asked "What music do people ask you to play?" he's response was "The Smiths. I hate The Smiths. I hate Morrissey and the people get mad at that". Full interview here (although that's the only part about Morrissey/Smiths):

"Odio que pidan Smiths" - Clarín.com

—¿Qué te piden?
—The Smiths. Odio a Smiths. Odio a Morrissey y se enojan. Tengo pocos discos porque sólo toco lo que me gusta.

Morrissey spotted in Camden pub last Saturday

Come back to Camden

Sent in anonymously:
My friend James from college saw Morrissey in the Edinburgh Castle pub in Camden on Saturday (it's the one nearest where he used to live when he was in the Mornington Crescent area of Camden Town). He was drinking orange juice and surrounded by a gaggle of Japanese students who appeared to be showing him some music videos on a laptop of theirs. He then went off with them in a people carrier. According to James,he looked old.

The Swedish daily newspaper Göteborgs-Posten mentions the rumoured concert at Scandinavium in Gothenburg. A spokesperson for Morrissey's Swedish booking company EMA Telstar is interviewed. She says that nothing is booked but that they are discussing concerts in Sweden and Gothenburg. The article also mentions the release of ROTT. Here is a link to the article in Swedish:
