In issue 3 of the new music magazine BANG, 2 Moz related stories on the same page!

1) Stephen Malkmus (formerly of Pavement) speaks of his next album: "Celebrity guests are a good thing if they're fucking amazing singers or something. I'd love to have Shirley Collins . . . and maybe Keith Richards, Morrissey, a couple of Super Furry Animals - they can come along." What a strange studio session that would be!!
2)Entitled "Back to the old house", this is probably old news, but I'll mention it anyway: "Morrissey has signed a new UK record deal with Sanctuary - the music group which now owns Rough Trade, The Smiths' old label... An insider at Sanctuary admitted: " Yeah, he signed last week. He'll be recording for us soon - just don't quote me on it."

And don't forget the NME Smiths special on June 7th.

i like the way it says not to quote him but does anyway,obviously meaning this is a load of poo.i reckon negotiations are on going but nothing has been signed.surely when something is signed it'll be formally and officially announced??or am i being too straightforwards in my thinking?

The mailing list will only accept you if you live in Canada/USA. And although there are a lot things I would do for Morrissey, moving across the Atlantic to get on a mailing list isn't really on the cards.
