From True-To-You 'Questions And Answers' (December, 2005):

"Q:
What are some of your favorite classic films or recent ones you've seen?

Mary Pluenneke Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.

A:
hello Mary My favourite in the last few years has been Late Marriage starring Lior Ashkenazi. It's one of those rare films wherein the entire cast is excellent, and the film is powerful without one single special effect or any sound trickery. Lior Ashkenazi more recently starred in Walk On Water, which is also worth seeing."

In 2007:

"My favourite actor is an Israeli, Lior Ashkenazi, and my favourite singer was born in Iraq and now lives in Egypt. So I'm not a part of Little Britain. And by that, I don't mean the show, obviously."

Lior presented Morrissey with DVDs at their meeting:
Late Wedding
Walk On Water
Yossi & Jagger
Ba'al Ba'al Lev (AKA Gotta Have Heart)
Buah, Ha (AKA The Bubble)
The Band's Visit
See posts #36 & 37 in this thread for a translation of Lior's account of their meeting in "Yediot Ahronot" (translation provided by member 'davdavon').

From Autobiography, Morrissey observes:

"By July 4th we headline at Hyde Park on a Friday of 25,000 strong. The actor Lior Ashkenazi flies over from Israel just to see the concert. Standing next to him backstage, it is difficult for me to shine, for some people are too in-spot to be matched, and Lior is such a person."

(Morrissey refers to the Wireless Festival, Hyde Park, July 4, 2008).
