Morrissey has answered a sixth series of questions submitted by Questions And Answers participants. These questions and Morrissey's answers are as follows.

Excerpts:

Who inspired you to sing?
KARICACSARY, Fontana.

Bobby Hatfield. He was the smaller of the two Righteous Brothers, and his falsetto swoop made me jump backwards over the settee. You should You Tube their You've lost that lovin' feelin', and you'll see what I mean. When I made the record Ringleader of the tormentors, the producer (Tony Visconti), who is a very close friend of David Bowie, tried to get both Bowie and I together to do our version of You've lost that lovin' feelin', with David doing the deep Bill Medley parts, and me doing the Bobby Hatfield shrieks. I loved this idea, but David wouldn't budge. I know I've criticized David in the past, but it's all been snotnosed junior high ribbing on my part. I think he knows that.

I was lucky enough to see you in Istanbul in July 2012. It was an amazing night, very intense, and it was a dream come true. How was it to be in Istanbul, and what do you think about the audience and the concert?
MELIS, Istanbul.

Well, we are about to record our new album, and one of the tracks is called Istanbul. It is second to Rome as my most favorite city in the world...

You are one of the few personalities in modern times who have really influenced my thinking about art and life. Have you ever thought about writing a novel?
HANNA, Germany.

In 2013 I published my Autobiography and it has been more successful than any record I have ever released, so, yes, I am mid-way through my novel. I have my hopes...

Morrissey has officially lost his mind.

He has neither lost anyone in the Holocaust, nor has he had a child who has been sexually abused.

I'm so done.

Before he starts telling us how wonderful Istanbul and Turkey is perhaps he should read a few articles.

Last year, Turkey topped the ranks for most number of journalists imprisoned. - http://cpj.org/blog/2013/12/turkey--worlds-top-press-jailer-once-more.php

While he lambasts the British government for any supposed threat to democracy, Turkey flirts with authoritarianism. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/dec/28/erdogan-pressure-quit-turkey-protests.

Let's not forget protected and sanctioned police brutality. http://www.amnesty.org/en/news/turkey-caught-gezi-park-protests-2013-12-09

What of those rights for the LGBT community? The country ignores the rights of homosexuals by failing to recognise abuse directed at them as a result of their sexuality a hate crime. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/12/06/turkey-gay-hate-crime-_n_4399864.html

And to the women of Turkey, their rights are being eroded bit by bit as domestic violence rates increase, workforce participation decreases and their autonomy is hindered. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/26/world/europe/women-see-worrisome-shift-in-turkey.html?_r=1

I'm glad he feels he could never die there. The murder rate for women rose 1400% between the years 2002 and 2009. http://www.voanews.com/content/turkeys-murder-rate-of-women-skyrockets-117093538/170517.html

Remember when he was courting Iran? At that time, several woman had just been stoned and two gay adolescents were hanged--for being gay. Now that I know of Tina, and that her parents are from Iran, it makes some sense. But wait, didn't they have to leave the country? Weren't they freedom fighters? Fighting a theocracy which is still in place today? He doesn't seem to have a problem with countries that treat women as second class citizens.

Jake was a meat eater and Morrissey still shagged him for a couple of years. He's being a tad facetious.
Yes and a number of his crew aren't veggie or kristeen although she pretends to be..
Tony V eats meet and so does Bowie
Even James Maker eats meet..
This is a bag of shit

Since when does wanting to visit a country or admiring aspects of its culture mean that you must agree with the policies of its government or the actions of all its citizens? This would be like someone refusing to visit the US while W was in office, or because they disagree with US gun laws. I guess Moz shouldn't travel to places where people eat meat or wear fur either? I would like to visit Turkey and Iran as well, but it's not because I admire their governments or the treatment of women in those countries (I am a woman too, btw). Just saying.

I agree with what you are saying but actually this is a man who boycotted Canada for seal clubbing.

I guess it just depends on how concerned with human rights violations one is. The US is not Iran. Iran is a theocracy with a horrible human rights records. Not much better than North Korea. I think many Iranians--especially the young--are hopeful and supportive of democratic values and equality. But their government is not. There are so many countries to visit. And most of us have limited resources. Don't support barbarism.

Morrissey was talking about playing Iran right around the same time he began his boycott of Canada. Very warped, imo. Hanging gays and stoning women does not warrant a boycott but clubbing seals does. Animals before humans. Sick. No one will ever convince me this is sound reasoning. Never. So hold your breath. And his Auschwitz comparison makes me ill, tbo The man has no moral compass.

Since he has spoken on these topics (and criticised other governments on these issues) in the past perhaps?

It's all kicking off at the daily mail. Morrissey has upset loads of people. Why does he automatically think this is good for sales though? His credibility just drops lower every year :-/

Don't worry about the Daily Mail

How were these questions selected? Who got to ask them?

I want to ask a Morrissey a question.
