i find it to be a side effect of living in the information age. having a giant glut of generalized info dumped on people has made them insecure about there knowledge base. we also live in a world that has a twenty four seven audience most of the time and that really effects people behavior mostly making it more defensive. people are very afraid to admit to being unsure these days and afraid to be embarrassed. thats my opinion
