Damn, I forgot how funny you could be.
It’s gonna be okay, Ket. Take a deep breath. Making the leap into a measured understanding that Morrissey hasn’t made good music in nearly 20 years could really do wonders for your psyche. We’re all here for you.

Easily. Tobias songs I like or love. It is beyond me why any Morrissey fan would detest these songs with the rage of a thousand suns so much. They're great:

You Have Killed Me
The Youngest Was The Most Loved
In The Future When All Is Well
On The Streets I Ran (one of my all time favorite Morrissey songs)
I Just Want To See The Boy Happy
I Knew I was Next (one of my all time favorite Morrissey songs)
If You Don't Like Me, Don't Look at Me
All You Need Is Me
Sorry Doesn't Help
I'm OK By Myself
Smiler With Knife
Forgive Someone (one of my all time favorite Morrissey songs)
I Bury The Living
Jim Jim Falls
What Kind Of People Live In These Houses?
Knockabout World
Once I Saw The River Clean
My Hurling Days Are Done (one of my all time favorite Morrissey songs)

So...why are these songs so repugnant to you? What exactly differentiates them from any songs by any of his other cowriters over the years? Boz and Alain have certainly written worse songs than these with Morrisey, as have some of his other collaborators.

I'm not being facetious. I look at that list and I see some great rock songs. What is your problem with them outside of some personal hatred for Jesse that exists for some reason?

Yep. Some great songs there. :thumb:

I hope Fiona writes an article about Jesse, one of Morrissey’s most underrated guitarists.

Honestly, I like a lot of these. Some I had difficulties with upon release, but I grew to love them (ItFWAW, SDH, IOBM), and some I’ve loved since day 1. Some, however, I’m not too keen on (AYNIM, OtSIR). But I really think you picked out his very best stuff.

Thanks. The thing about my list is that is almost every song Tobias has done with Morrissey (there have been a lot of rare ones recently but I don't know who wrote those.) So to my ears he's been a very consistently good (or great) collaborator. And I had no idea he made a lot of those songs before looking that up to post here, so I'm actually more impressed with his abilities than I was when I was originally defending him earlier.

There are some bad Morrissey songs out there for sure. But I seriously don't see any obvious quality (or stylistic) difference in those Tobias songs to the rest of Morrissey's solo material.

As for his guitar playing live, I can't really differentiate who is doing what in that wall of sound, but the songs sound good to me.

As for his behavior outside of all of that, I have no knowledge of any of it and don't really care. It's not like people have wonderful stories about Morrissey either. It's of little concern to me.

Tobias songs, that will be remembered by the dinosaurs, that will repopulate the earth after us:

You Have Killed Me
All You Need Is Me

Both, no all-time faves of mine but pretty good singles.

Alain and Boz should be on Morrissey's side until the twelfth of never. If this ain't possible, we have to accept Morrissey's decision to keep Tobias, with whom he seem to socialise, somehow.

I'm Not A Man is second to Pigsty for me in terms of post-comeback tracks that are Cool And Good and that's a Jesse cowrite. Fair play.

the way i see it ,it is too much hassle to travel just now,its actually getting harder not easier, boz is taking a break nothing more, the idea of M sacking boz is mental, boz knows where the nazi gold is hidden.
it may be harder for normal folk to travel these days but not for people like Boz. All he has to do is the pre CPR test to fly get cleared, then go. He's a performer, he doesn't need a green card, he's exempt. It's really only a minor hassle. Squeeze for example just announced a US tour and will be playing Las Vegas the day after Moz's final show. Boz not being there his his decision or Moz's decision, I can't see how it will be because of the hassle to travel or work visa problems.

if we've seen the last of Boz then I wish him well. Safe with the knowledge that no one ever bought a ticket to see him play guitar anywhere ever, just like White or Tobias, they come to see Morrissey, no matter who is standing behind him. Always was, always will be.

I don't want to disillusion you, but none of those that you listed are strong songs. They're the opposite of strong: not strong. Jesse isn't a strong songwriter and he isn't a strong guitar-player. Your taste in songs isn't strong.

The words "anytime soon" are not needed. Which, given the poor quality of some of Johnny's recent releases, is probably a very good thing.

Delighted that Alain is back - he is not the Messiah...but he can right a few wrongs.
Sorry, but I would say Johnny's last album blows Moz's last two albums to hell. He's doing well on his own. Morrissey blew any chance of a reunion with the right wing nonsense. Having met and spoken with Johnny, as a truly sweet person, I just don't see how he'd want to be associated with Morrissey anytime soon unless there's a big mea culpa at some point that brings him universal forgiveness.

Well, you may be able to beat me up, but at least I can spell 'grammar', and that's the real quiz.

What DO you like? If you think YHKM, Smiler, Forgive and OISTRC are bad songs, I’m not sure you even like Morrissey.
