Morrissey Central (& SER YT): "DAVEY THE WIND BLOWS BITS OF YOUR LIFE AWAY" (July 2, 2020)

"We hadn’t rehearsed the song. David called me at my hotel and we tried to duet down the phone, which became very funny because David couldn’t remember the words, but on the night it was me who forgot and David remembered. You can see a slight disapproval from him when I repeat and repeat the wrong lines … his look says ‘you shouldn’t be singing that bit again’. This clip is my 4th favorite memory of David. It’s nice that Ron and Russell are in there too, but Russell looks irked … I expect he was missing the concluding sequel of that night’s Columbo.”
Morrissey 30 June 2020"

Regards,
FWD.

I was thinking, this very morning, about ‘cancel culture’ and how Morrissey was actually an early advocate of it—even cancelling himself sometimes. I suspect he is probably less disposed to behave like that now. And yes, that would amount to maturing.

Judging by his last LP, the process has no negative creative impact at all (years ago, I thought it might).

I think a lot of it is meant to be funny.

It's nice to see him reminiscing this, since I for one have got the impression that anything Bowie-related is a sore point for Morrissey.

That's Mike that gets on the stage at the beginning of the clip. He snuck behind the stage from the upper tier, and climbed down onto the back of the stage. You could actually see the Keitel backdrop on the stage start to ripple, and he came crawling out from underneath. He would have had no idea Bowie was already standing on the side of the stage.

Morrissey, your time is up. Your xenophobic ways appeal to only a few fans.
Morrissey is LOVED by many many fans all over the planet.
But, of course, you don't like to hear that because you wish he wouldn't be so loved. Wishful thinking...

Wonderful. I love every bit of it.
The two of them so young and beautiful.
YES, the word is beautiful.

What a thing to wake up to...or am í still a-dreamin'? Just sublime.

When they sing "what's it like to be alone?" and Bowie rests his hand on Morrissey's shoulder. Puddled.

Twenty Nine years to sit on this footage?

And trying not to imagine all the remaining treasures Mr Broad filmed that summer. Failing.

Howsabout a 30 year anniversary release of the "Kill Uncle" Tour Documentary...?

.

Same here. Lovely. :)

Speechless. This is a real treat.

More please.

Someone save this before it gets pulled.

(I already saved it, just in case...)

many many dozens!

Talking of his 4th memorable moment with Bowie, did The Thin White Duke still did have affairs with men in the 90s? Jagger should know.

I thought it was "what's it like to be a loon" but have seen both on lyrics pages. On the "Bolan World" page it's "loon".
