New Song

Excellent, thank you for posting. I'm not too familiar with Ennio Morricone's early music, but for whatever reason that song made me think of him.

I see what you meant there,a touch of almost mariachi trumpets

It's a good sign when based on one minute of seriously substandard clip you think you might be listening to your favorite Morrissey song ever.

This is what I have for lyrics:

"Always be careful
when you abuse (?) the one you love
the hour or the day no one can tell
but one day goodbye will be farewell
and you will never see the one you love again
you will never see the one you love again
I have..." video ends there.

Does that sound right? Is anyone hearing a similarity between this and Paris?

Sound like Wreck Of The Old '97 to me

'Cos he was going down a grade making 90 miles an hour,
The whistle broke into a scream.
He was found in the wreck with his hand on the throttle,
Scalded to death by the steam.

Oh, now all you ladies you'd better take a warning,
From this time on and learn.
Never speak hard words to your true-lovin' husband.
He may leave you and never return.
Poor Boy.

Sounds good. Would like to hear the whole thing though before I get too excited.

Does this mean Moz is listening to old American folk music? There's no reason he shouldn't, it's just not what I expect to hear about.

What's next, a Wabash Cannonball cover? Although, he could do a nice creepy version of Shady Grove and I wouldn't mind.

Sounds right. Is he telling us -in other words- what he told us in All You Need Is Me "You're gonna miss me when I'm gone"?? I'll never say goodbye or farewell, Morrissey -only 'see you later'!! :(

i dont like it too much, i like All You Need Is Me more, but it is definately better than That's how people grow up. after [hopefully] hearing it live i'll see how i feel about.

oh yeah and there is definately some jesse in there...

I agree! I like the vibe of All U Need is Me best but look forward to hearing this song in its entirety. A new song is just that. New. I'll take it...I'm lying here wide to receive everything he cares to leave!!

Will he trade Kristeen for Joan Baez?

I'd love to hear him do some of those old ballads. I didn't know Shady Grove, and just looked it up, but if he went into the Carter Family songbook, or so many of those old murder ballads and broken heart ballads would suit him well. I don't mean for him to turn into Johnny Cash tomorrow, but if he did go back into that music I think it would give him a lot of inspiration for his own. And all that stuff originally came from England and Scotland anyway. It would make a great PBS series, Morrissey and Boz tramping around the hillsides and sitting down for a spell, to play a little tune.

This is soooooooooo off-topic now. :p

Still, to prove my point, here's Blue Eyed Boy by the Carter Family.

Bring Back My Blue Eyed Boy

Tis true the rain that has no end
It's hard to find a faithful friend
And when you find one just and true
He's dropped the old one for the new

Bring back my blue eyed boy to me
Bring back my blue eyed boy to me
Bring back my blue eyed boy to me
That I may ever happy be

Must I go bound and have no free
Must I love a boy that don't love me
Or must I act the childish part
And love that boy that broke my heart

Last night my lover promised me
To take me across the deep blue sea
And now he's gone and left me alone
An orphan girl without a home

O dig my grave both wide and deep
Place marble at my head and feet
And on my breast a snow white dove
To show to the world I died for love

ooo, I love the vocals!:)

i think it's very good indeed, comparing it with the latest songs written...

but everyday I love more the Smiths and dislike Moz of the 21st century

based on that it sounds like more ROTT material...boring.
