Morrissey A-Z: "I'll Never Be Anybody's Hero Now"

Ringleader was a hugely disappointing album. It promised so much - a new songwriter on half the compositions (first time in 15 years), a legendary producer, one of the world's greatest orchestral composers/arrangers, the whole thing set in Italy...
Yet what did we get? Another album full of disappointing fair-to-middling indie guitar pop.
But, credit where it's due, it did contain three genuinely great songs and this was one of them. Well done Mr Alain Gordon Whyte for supplying the music.

Forgot about this one. This is 1 of 2-3 songs on ROTT I'd revisit. Didn't get the Roy Orbison vibe before but hear it clearly now. 7/10 for me.

Not one of my favourite songs but as previously mentioned when I hear it live it seems to have more depth and impact.

Hymn-like, but something is missing, and I've been thinking that for 15 years. There are weaker songs on ROTT and that is worth something.

My favourite from ROTT.
