It's not loud enough. My ears aren't bleeding

nugz

SUPAHSTAR!
seriously though, how do I make my music louder on my itunes? when I play my ipod, alot of my songs just don't sound loud enough. especially the stuff I buy directly off itunes. or maybe I'm just deaf. either way I need it louder. I dled "ipodwizard" and I didnt have a compatible version of ipod or something? and then i dled "goPod" but apparently thats only for European ipods. I think theres a way to do it directly on itunes but I forget. what can I do? thanks.

Perhaps you are already going deaf.
That would explain the "whah?" "whah?" "whah?" every now and then.

Do you have Sound Check (Preferences > Playback > Sound Check) turned on? If not, turn it on. It should boost the volume of your quietest songs.

Your iPod also has a max volume setting. Look under the Settings.

i know the max setting on my ipod volume is up. let me check that other thing

oh ive always wondered. what is the best setting on my volume though? like "rock" "pop" "bass" etc,...??

ok the sound check wasnt checked. so i checked it. so it'll make all my songs the same volume, but will it make the volume louder?

It normalizes the volume--in other words, it adjusts the volume of each song so that they all have the same loudest volume. So quiet songs get boosted, loud songs get muted, etc. It's great for listening on shuffle, but disastrous for listening to things like concerts, where the crowd noise and band volume can vary dramatically from song to song.

ok 2 questions

i still wanna make my overall volume louder, i know there must be a way to do this?!!

and when I add new songs will they automatically be re-volumized or whatever?

Make an appointment with an Ear Nose and Throat specialist. Have your ear canals flushed.

:swear:

this is a serious question!!!

That was a serious answer.

I was at the Apple store this evening. The earbuds to my iPhone headphones were a bit frayed. They gave me new ones.

I love Apple.

No shit? I should do that, too--the rubber bits have worn off. I suppose it is still in-warranty.

That is what was wrong with mine. They did not even run it through the computer. I mean if I have a 3G it was obviously less than a year old. I find their service department to be excellent and it is a determining factor as to why I always pay the $60 to extend the warranty for an extra year on all iPods and now iPhones.

nugz,
could it be the headphones??

i'm pretty sure the settings transfer. on a scale of 1-10, 10 being REALLY LOUD, what number do you give yours?
