Houston White Oak show - now postponed until October 28, 2019

Show has been postponed till oct 28th no reason given yet. Uuuuuuuugggggghhhhhh

From White Oak FB (see full FAQ posted by Famous when dead in comments):

"Well this really sucks. We've been working through the weather to make this show happen & just learned Morrissey and Interpol will not be playing tonight. Here’s the deal — the entire show is postponed until October 28th. Your ticket for tonight will be valid for the rescheduled date.

We know there’s a lot of questions here, so we hope this answers them:

Q. Wait...What’s going on?
A. From Moz --

"Due to complications from the extreme flood conditions in the Houston area, the Morrissey / Interpol concert set to take place tonight has been re-scheduled for Oct 28th.
It was determined to move the event in consideration and respect of the troubles that people in the area have recently encountered.
It is the group’s wishes that the rescheduled date can better serve all who would like to come to the event.
Morrissey’s team reached the decision after hearing that a number of ticket buyers were having issues attending tonight’s event, along with information of current road closures and other related problematic details.
The team would like to express their deepest apologies for any inconvenience to the fans.

Ian very disappointed, but hey word is Postpone not cancel So I live to see another date again crossing my fingers

Will they really trawl back to Houston?

Pathetic. Roads are dry. He has days off after this show so he just extended his vacation

For sure. It's a beautiful night. Roads are dry. Hotels have Moz fans in them, the Astros are playing at home right now. There's no reason for this show not to be played. Another punch in the guts for many who have been punched too much to begin with.

No.......just not racist, proud to be Irish ..living in Ireland and absolutely hate people like you tarnishing the Irish reputation as friendly people with utter bile
Friendly!

Mass murdering gypsy pikeys the lotta yas driving Skoda's.

So, someone reminds us of the benefits of empathy, and you feel completely backed into a corner?
Yep I find that sort of thing off turning. Irish should always hate the english and never get on. Irish should be having a party tonight celebrating the english that went to a gig that never took place where they got wet playing music by Wet Wet Wet.

the area surrounding the venue is flooded and driving there is very dangerous. many peeps would be obligated to stay home and then the skinny pseudonym puppets would mock the crowd.
the band and the fans could have been electrocuted due to the rain. it would have been a great calamity. this way everybody is safe and can attend next month.:thumb:

Now you make it sound like we all missed a great show when a dream came true. Fried americans smell like chapstick whereas the brits smell like pigs and make us long for bacon.

...but the rain that flattens my hair...
These are the things that kill me.

The venue was ready to go. Don’t believe the “people couldn’t get there/unsafe garbage. Again, the venue thought it was happening.

This was Morrissey.

We know he reads these boards and doesn’t care at all about fans. Again, don’t believe his ham fisted apologies.

People planned vacations and came from other countries for these shows and he f***ed them.

You hope he has changed but...no.

By Joey Guerra for Chron.com:

Is anyone still surprised that Morrissey is a no-show in Houston?

"Road closures? Flood conditions? Yes, Houston has had some major problems this week. But if you peruse the comments under the White Oak post, you'll see angry fans who traveled hundreds of miles, rented hotels and were ready to see the show.
Also, here's a list of other Saturday shows that went on as planned.

  • Carrie Underwood at Toyota Center
  • Peter Frampton at The Woodlands Pavilion
  • SuicideGirls at Warehouse Live
  • Candlebox at House of Blues
  • Grupo Niche and Jerry Rivera at Arena Theatre"

Devastated is the correct word we were waiting in line and all of a sudden white oak employee said show is postponed till Oct 28.....wow heartbreaker I drove through flooded streets to be here and so many others....uuuuuugggggghhh
the fact you said you drove through flooded streets should have been a warning, what about people who couldn't get through flooded streets, its a pisser but its also a sensible move and its not like its been rescheduled for next year, its only five weeks.
