Saturn is a big chain and they also have a shop in Hannover.
It's on Ernst-August-Platz 3.

I didn't look for the vinyls, just for the CD.

SATURN is a multi media store, much the same as Media Markt (in fact, they belong to the same mother company: METRO). Both companies are present in Hannover.

I know at least one Media Markt here in Berlin that does sell vinyl records. I even saw the Greatest Hits double album there. Not sure about singles, though.

Never mind all that!
All we really wanna know is... what's 'Children in Pieces' like? Is it the work of genius that the rumour mongers would have us believe?
Or is it just another so-so piece of unremarkable, indie-guitar pop?

thanks for the info ! just txt them but i think they are travelling back to dear old Blighty today ! I work for hmv and I have got it on order anyway - off the top of my head we are getting about 30-40 copies of the cd single and about 25 of the 2 x 7" singles. so if you get along and pre order it you will not be dissapointed . Ditto Maurice E - what does children in pieces sound like then - post it somewhere sometime .. soon . cheers

Here is my attempt at the lyrics:

Children in pieces
in Irish industrial schools
Nuns cold mothers
and their christian brothers
kick the shit out of very frightened children

Judges and priests and police and cardinals
they look the other way
when the weekend comes they'll make you suffer

Children in pieces
in Irish industrial schools
Nuns cold mothers
and their christian brothers
kick the shit out of very frightened children

You say you wanna go home
you say you wanna be left alone
and so you turn to me
but instead of sympathy I find
my sentimental heart hardens
my sentimental heart hardens
Get your hands off me
Kid, you must be bad luck
My sentimental heart hardens

Thanks Oso. Sounds intriguing. Roll on 2nd June!

Interesting lyrics, I can't wait to hear them for myself. Thanks for posting.

Re: Only one week in the UK?

Has anyone noticed the news on itsmorrisseysworld.com that the single will be released but only for one week? Clever, but if this fails to make an impression on the charts.... no excuses left!

Yes, I noticed it but didn't really understand. What is it good for? To push people to buy it because of panic? (Worked with me, I've just ordered it from Amazon.... :o)

it's actually a pretty shrewd idea.
when singles get a relatively large amount of airplay (e.g. First of the Gang) they can linger in the charts for a few weeks.
when they get bugger all (or thereabouts) airplay, they go tumbling down in the second week. the people at Decca have realised they're faced with the latter of these two scenarios, so why not just make the single available for one week anyway. this will mobilise the fans into getting it nice and early, probably guaranteeing it a chart position of about 5 places higher than it would otherwise have acheived.
the single will also seem like a potential rarity making it more appealing (could get the fans buying multiple copies).
then the depressingly familiar rapid tumble from the chart will be less demoralising because the record company are (partly) bringing it on themselves.

all in all I think it's a bit of a 'win win' (as they say!).
