Morrissey had every right to walk off after this incident. Some points:
1) He has been ill on this tour and collapsed on stage. As such he has the right to expect people not to throw bottles at him. A little consideration would not go amiss.

Morrissey has clearly lost all sense of objectivity and self-awareness. He seems to think that people should only buy those releases from which he recieves royalties. Unfortunately that means his below-par post 1994...
It is for one thing very cheesy. Like when politicians kiss babies during election campaigns. Also it evokes a sense of parenthood which is at odds with the spirit of carefree rock music. The best solo-Morrissey cover pic was that for 'Vauxhall & I' which looked cool and dignified.
Album covers are a vital part of the appeal of a record. Imagine if Bowie's 'Aladdin Sane' had come in a plain brown sleeve instead of the iconic picture.
I disagree. The Smiths album covers were inventive because they did something different from the usual picture of the artist type covers.

Completely untrue! The choice of images for the Smiths singles were always fascinating and some of the album designs, especially 'Meat is Murder', were iconic. Certainly they would not put potential buyers off the record. However I very much doubt that many younger record buyers will want a pic...
