For Britain's Anne Marie Waters thanks Morrissey in video message

You do realise The Matrix is a science fiction film?

For Britain's Anne Marie Waters thanks Morrissey in video message

Well, that debate can't go much further before we're at the "yes you are", "No I'm not" Level, which isn't much point. So I'll just note where you stand vis-a-vis reality, and tell you where I stand, and then perhaps things are best left there. Your idea of an "extreme threat to western...

For Britain's Anne Marie Waters thanks Morrissey in video message

That line of argument is permeated With radical right ideas even in its basic assumptions, which means that it simply doesn't make basic sense to anyone who does not share that mindset. Which is most People. Firstly, I think it is nonsense that culture is an expresison of race. Secondly, I think...

For Britain's Anne Marie Waters thanks Morrissey in video message

Why on Earth should that be my first assumption? FB is what it is, whatever Morrissey thinks about them. If he understands what they are and think that is persuasive, then that has consequences for how I see Morrissey, not for how I see FB.

For Britain's Anne Marie Waters thanks Morrissey in video message

Very droll. I am fascinated, by the way, to have received a "Troll" rating for having expressed distress at Morrissey's open support of a party which even Nigel Farage has called "Nazi and racist". As if the only possible motive for doing so was malicious trouble-stirring. Discussion on the...

    Bands like the smiths?

The Smiths: The only ones who really sound much like them is Gene, and to an extent James. Dubstar reminds you of them for reasons that are not entirely Clear.

    Bands you can't "get"

I like them both, although I think The Smiths are in a completely different league. And I agree, I don't see any essential similarity between them at all. Lyrically, the Cure is vague, inwardly emotional and pictorial. Perhaps it is not coincidental that Robert Smith's best lyrics basically...

    Bands you can't "get"

    They're great.

For Britain's Anne Marie Waters thanks Morrissey in video message

In 36 years as an ardent Smiths/Morrissey fan, watching that clip represents the absolute, unsurpassable nadir. Anne Marie Waters thanking Morrissey, and knowing that she's got good reason to do so. It's sickening.

    "Morrissey Sings The Smiths"

What'd be the point? Do you think Boz & co would improve upon the originals?

    Bands you can't "get"

    Agree, really good.

    Agreed, both great albums!

    Parquet Courts; "Wide Awaaaake!"

    Your Morrissey album Top 11

You’d find me huddled up in a corner, silently sobbing and nursing a Vermouth.
  16. Q

    Your Morrissey album Top 11

I refuse to omit "Bona Drag" or "Swords", just like I refuse to not consider "Hatful of Hollow" or "The World Won't Listen" proper Smiths albums. They all consist overwhelmingly of material not on any other album. But I will not consider Suedehead or Sunday when ranking BD. 1. You are the...

"How to treat Morrissey? Stop listening to him" by Stewart Lee - The Guardian

Yes, I also like Gervais. Have you tried Dylan Moran? Anyway, if you're inclined to give Lee another chance, this is a great clip. The surreal ending especially.

"Även de mest lojala överger Morrissey" by Martin Söderström - Aftonbladet

Well, I don't think I'll spend any more time pursuing this disappointingly futile exchange. I'll just briefly note the wonderful irony of being accused of not having updated to 2018 by someone who prefers to think in terms of tribal allegiance.

"How to treat Morrissey? Stop listening to him" by Stewart Lee - The Guardian

Well, at least they avoid the astounding double whammy of choosing to appear in public under the name of "f***face", and not knowing how to spell it.

"How to treat Morrissey? Stop listening to him" by Stewart Lee - The Guardian

You should watch him, rather than attempt to derive who he is from two words. He's on Netflix, if you're in the UK. Very funny.
