James and Johnny Marr US Tour

Never gotten into James. No idea why. Seemed quite boring. Everyone has heard Sit Down, though.

"Hidden By Rags" - vintage Smiths and Morrissey shirts; site mentions book and exhibition forthcoming

Not sure about this. Don't get me wrong I love seeing the other fans' sartorial choices but it feels like someone just looking for to make a few bucks. Can't even find the "authors" name, not that I've looked for it much. That doesn't bode well for being proud of it. Hmm.

Fiona Dodwell: "Morrissey Was Rejecting Toxic Masculinity 30 Years Before It Was Fashionable" (April 27, 2024)

That's one hell of a blunder to make! He certainly did and I applaud him for that. I just don't really understand why she is discussing toxic masculinity in the article or more to the point why now.

Fiona Dodwell: "Morrissey Was Rejecting Toxic Masculinity 30 Years Before It Was Fashionable" (April 27, 2024)

My god, is she really a fan or does she just latch on to damaged folks who are victims of the media? How can she think YHKM is about his school days? I agree with everything you said. Some turns of phrase are very M-like, imo, so maybe he does write notes. I wouldn't be surprised.

    Morrissey Central "Beethoven U.S.A." (April 25, 2024)

I think you'd have done a better job! I like every one of those but the one he's chosen makes it looks like he's angry. Still cute. He'll never not be. But the others are moreso.

    Morrissey Central "Beethoven U.S.A." (April 25, 2024)

It's not even a good photograph. It looks like a picture taken in the moments between better photos being captured. In fact, he looks annoyed. Very strange choice. The gigs supposedly taking place to support the release only have 12 weeks to get everything sorted by. Quite short notice.

    Morrissey Central "Beethoven U.S.A." (April 25, 2024)

They've not been announced yet but I guess that is the joke you're making, huh!?

    Morrissey Central "Beethoven U.S.A." (April 25, 2024)

I wish they would hurry up and announce when and where the two gigs are happening.

    Morrissey Central "Beethoven U.S.A." (April 25, 2024)

So at least one of the two gigs sounds like it is in the U.S.

    What about Alain whyte?

Off topic: Is security tight at the Apollo? I haven't been in about 15 years.

Morrissey Central "A RUSH AND A PUSH AND THE MUSIC IS OURS" (April 19, 2024)

I can't even get through the first few lines of I Live In Oblivion without bawling my eyes out so he's doing something right. It's just hard to listen to.

It certainly is amazing news. We are one step closer and it feels damn good. We might hear them during his lifetime after all. I must admit, I love SIASGW. It's gorgeous. I actually agree with you. You get used to everything in M land being done the hard way but it feels extra rewarding when...

NME: The Smiths tribute band re-opening Brixton Academy: “We’re grateful and humble” (April 19, 2024)

I prefer Viva Morrissey over these guys who don't look or sound like them/M. The frontman of VM is an obsessive M fan because he knows all of the ad libs, body language, movements, etc, that M does on stage whereas the others don't have that added touch.

Mporium (UK): "A selection of Lyric and Logo t shirts have just been re-released for your purchase pleasure." (April 17, 2024)

Just bought the t shirt with the silhouette of his face on it in the sale part of the site for £15 (plus postage). Wanted one for ages. It'll be the reward I need on Monday after having to go for x-rays! Dontcha just love hospitals...
