TMDQA!: "Producers say Morrissey has not yet returned money from shows in Brazil and explains ticket situation" (February 21, 2024)

Kill Uncle and Southpaw Grammar - what ifs

Not really - frontloads Side A with livelier songs, moves into a slower end of the side, then the last five all address Moz's relationship obsession at the time from a I Want The One I Can't Have to I'm Going To Die Alone And Unloved conclusion. Also the endings of most songs flow nicely into...

What now? A frank and open deep conversation

Kill Uncle and Southpaw Grammar - what ifs

The biggest mistake Moz has always made is holding onto money like Scrooge McDuck. PAY YOUR WRITERS AND MUSICIANS. And if you do that, it'll be less likely that My Life Is An Endless Succession of People Saying Goodbye. Kill Uncle can be quite good. I have a different running order that (just...

Both Quarry anniversary events cancelled (January 25, 2024)

The whole thing stinks. Moz can issue a dozen paragraphs lamenting a dead nobody that only he cares about in 20 minutes .... yet says nothing about the fact he has - once again - fu ck ed over thousands of fans, many of whom are travelling enormous distances, claiming 'physical exhaustion' when...

Morrissey Central "CANCEL CULTURE BEGINS AT HOME" (January 11, 2024)

Create your own numbers then. The point is Moz's setlists really aren't designed to please the punters, either in length or content.

Morrissey Central "CANCEL CULTURE BEGINS AT HOME" (January 11, 2024)

Those are total lifetime plays across his live career - he's played about 1,158 gigs in the past 35 years.

Morrissey Central "CANCEL CULTURE BEGINS AT HOME" (January 11, 2024)

One of the reasons Moz isn't as big as other legacy acts is that he doesn't do what others do. His setlists are perverse, you have no guarantee you'll hear any song - be it a massive hit or not, his shows are short compared to his once peers who average 2hrs 15 whilst he does 85 minutes. His...

Morrissey Central "CANCEL CULTURE BEGINS AT HOME" (January 11, 2024)

Well, looks like the f***ing-About of "Don't talk about me", has turned into the Finding-Out of "Nobody talks about me!!". What a prat.

Scott Rodger (Maverick) leaks Morrissey information and email re: Bonfire / Miley via X (October 17, 2023)

I'm not going to do any desktop psychological evaluations, however my opinions broadly align to this as at least part of his composition.

Scott Rodger (Maverick) leaks Morrissey information and email re: Bonfire / Miley via X (October 17, 2023)

100%. Moz had it all for the taking, but blew it by being awkward, obstructive, failing to play shows/tours he's been contracted to - such as NY/LA arena shows in 1994, and ducking out of The Bowie tour in 1995 - and generally deliberately avoiding what audiences wanted. If he'd taken the...

    When was Moz hated?

This seems to indicate poor ticket sales in big rooms. https://www.morrissey-solo.com/threads/the-dreadful-state-of-uk-ticket-sales.145706/

    When was Moz hated?

Moz has always over stated his own importance. The 2018 Arena tour sold pitifully with lots of unsold tickets. 2020 was slimmed down to two half-sold arenas.

    Alain explains why he left

Me too. The 1991-1997 era was easily my favorite incarnation of his band.

    Alain explains why he left

I suspect Donnie's view was something like Ech, guitarists come and go and Moz has done FINE without you, and Alain may have been more of the view that Donnie, who hasn't been writing songs with Morrissey for 32 years, should show more respect to people.

Fiona Dodwell: "Morrissey: Capitol, Censorship And The Silencing Of Art" (June 15, 2023)

I think Moz ascribing it to 'cancel culture' is nonsense. He's not got a great commercial appeal : the label probably thought they could maybe engineer a 2004-style career rebirth, then realised they probably couldn't make it happen. In my opinion they should just let him buy the record back and...

Fiona Dodwell: "Morrissey: Capitol, Censorship And The Silencing Of Art" (June 15, 2023)

The world is full of albums, some we know about, some we don't, that have been binned before release due to record company politics, tax writeoffs, and more, that simply never get released. Half of this article is veering on "oh noes! cancel culture! Wokeness killed my Morrissey LP!", when its...
