Never really understood why so many people raved about how good ROTT was. Pigsty and Dear God aside I just couldn't get into the album. Seemed to be mainly filler. It should have been good with Visconti at the helm but just didn't do it for me.
YATQ almost had Morrissey back in mainstream...
Ah thank you. There's a huge back catalogue of his music that I do enjoy and have done for the past 25 years. I think every artist has a well of inspiration and I think it has run dry for Morrissey. I enjoyed the covers album from last year.
I consider myself a former fan though live in the hope he can turn it around. The bulk of his output since You are the Quarry has been mediocre and the whole Britain First thing really doesn't help his cause. Am waiting for a renaissance but don't think it will happen.
Would only risk my health to attend a full on Smiths reunion. No chance would I risk my health to see Morrissey mince around a stage for just over an hour. The Wembley show in 2006 was average, can't see this one being that great.
He's been in his fat Elvis period for the past 10 years though?
Got distracted looking at the ticketmaster website and was reading some of the reviews.
Really liked this album when it first came out but the novelty soon wore off. With hindsight it just seem to be another Morrissey by numbers album with nothing too adventurous on. Paris is still a great song though.
Boz probably charges too much in royalties, the others are probably on a reduced songwriting rate. After all it's business and lawnmower parts are replaceable.
I was at the Wembley Arena show in December 2006 - was about 80% full if I recall. Think Morrissey was more popular back then so debatable if this will sell out. Of course the next album could be a career defining best seller. Or perhaps more of the same chugging rock aimed at a small fanbase...
I've had a bookmark on my web browser for morrissey-solo for the past 20 years. Have just deleted said bookmark. Not sure what's worse, the state of Morrissey's "career", some of the rubbish stories that are posted on here or the comments. Thanks, it's been a blast.
Is the Roy Orbison cover symbolic of Morrissey's career?! Would have preferred him to cover "crying" in the style of the singer from only fools and horses.
Moz and Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols (in case you didn't know). From Jonesy's mildly amusing instagram feed. Some amusing comments as well. Not quite sure where Mr Jones' right hand is.
Are they going to rerecord Interlude? Siouxsie Sioux I could understand, not sure about this one. The proof will be in the pudding.
Her vocal style did sound like that Barbie Girl song from a few years ago. Aqua?
Johnny M wins an award and everyone bitches about his hair......????!!
Quick question - who would you rather Morrissey writes his next album with? Johnny Marr or Jesse Tobias?
Next album of original material, not the half baked covers album which will be inflicted on the world shortly.
