Burt Macho writes about Sandie Shaw

It should have been pretty obvious who 'Burt Macho' was, seeing as the article was reprinted in Sounds a mere 2 months or so later under Morrissey's name. It also appeared a couple of years after that in the UK girl group 'zine That Will Never Happen Again.

"World Peace" review by Keith Cameron in Mojo (4 stars, Aug. 2014)

Just received the new (August) issue of Mojo - 'World Peace...' is this month's featured album with an effusive full page 4-star review by Keith Cameron, accompanied by a rather odd illustration by one Dan Craig. Sample quotes: "the most subtle and decorous Morrissey album for many years...

London dates added (O2 Academy, Brixton - Aug. 7, Palladium - Aug. 8)

Monday night at the London Palladium? Seems a bit odd. Concerts are usually on the Sunday when a theatre production is on during the week. Also, I imagine that anyone from the south east who would have driven hundreds of miles etc. etc. would be pretty committed to the cause and delighted to...

"Glamorous Glue" promo 7" on eBay

Stateside was a legendary UK label active mainly during the '60s and early '70s, although it has been revived on a few occasions since then. As the name suggests it was EMI's outlet for licensed-in US productions. My guess is that as Moz wanted an authentic '60s style EMI 'A' demo label on this...

Have A Go 7" promo question

Firstly, there should have been a photo in my last post to confirm that it is the promo 7" I'm referring to. Secondly, I was hoping that there might have been something in the run-out grooves to differentiate the two pressings, but apparently not! Finally, all I can do is to repeat what I...

Have A Go 7" promo question

Absolutely - RDJ 6400, 'Skinhead' sleeve, red labels with black radial Parlophone logo etc. Both sides are correctly labelled as per the sleeve. The run-out groove on the A-side (Have-A-Go Merchant) has a machine stamped matrix number of RDJ 6400 A-1-1- with 'timtom' and 'DAMONT' hand...

    Scott Piering Archive on eBay

Apologies from a first-time poster if this is common knowledge, but some interesting pieces have appeared on EBay in the past few days which purportedly belonged to Scott Piering, including a signed TCM 12" and Meat Is Murder LP acetate. I guess there may be more to come...
