Record Collector: Jim Reid (The Jesus And Mary Chain) on The Smiths debut album

I saw this clown and his “band” at Lalapalooza in the early 90s. It was like having shit shoveled in my ears. Irrelevant nobodies. The fact that they had a slot and Patti Smith was relegated to a tent was a crime at that show.

Newark, NJ - New Jersey Performing Arts Center (Dec. 1, 2022) post-show

Thanks so much for letting me know. That does sound very fortunate. We were all all the way to Charlottesville Virginia on the weekend when the DC date was canceled. I’m pretty sure that I cursed myself because I had been bragging to my wife about how I had seen Morrissey solo 20 times and never...

What time did they go in? Full setlist posted around 9:30 EST?

    Oakland, CA - Fox Theater (Nov. 18, 2022) post-show

Exactly. That’s what everyone at a Morrissey how wants to deal with- tough guys messing with people.

Los Angeles, CA - Greek Theatre (Nov. 12, 2022) post-show

I just dumped my tickets for DC at The Anthem and cancelled the hotel. No sense driving 12 hours round trip for this crap to happen. Empty the concert halls. Can’t play to an empty venue.

Consequence: "Win Tickets to See Morrissey Live and Meet Drummer Brendan Buckley" (November 11, 2022)

I’m just happy things are going smoothly for Morrissey and great things are ahead/promised. I will be at the Anthem in DC. I don’t want to meet this guy and it’s super weird. Alain would be a coup. Great that he’s back. I would enter the contest to tell Jesse Tobias that he sucks. So there’s that.

They should just amble up the coast to Tweedmouth next

Morrissey Central "REBELS WITH CONSIDERABLE APPLAUSE" (October 1, 2022)

I am eternally grateful to be able to see anything posted about the tour, on the tour, and because of the tour. Moz has meant a great deal to me for 3/4 of my life. Tearing down Sam (who has done a great service to film shows) is just petty. If you support Morrissey, then enjoy. I don’t think...

As Friends Rust - Last of the Famous International Scumbags

It’s fashionable to pile on at the moment. However, a reasonable number of his statements and predictions are being proved prophetic at the moment

Cure interview in Irish Times mentions Moz

I saw The Cure on their last tour through Charlotte, NC. They played 35 songs. They played for 3 hours. You are incorrect regarding the greatest hits comment. Yes, they play their popular songs. Like Morrissey, they have about 40-50 songs (not including The Smiths’ songs) that M solo fans would...

Article in The New European "Morrissey Is Dead" by Nicholas Barrett (more nuanced than the headline)

Undoubtedly a self-proclaimed “superfan,” as it is quite apparent from his picture that he was likely an infant or not yet born in the early 90s when the picture chosen was snapped. The pile-on gang of “fans” who are also media or public figures/musicians is a tired act. This brings me to Colin...

    Newcastle - Metro Radio Arena (Feb. 23, 2018) post-show

Can’t believe the show has gone on. I fully expected a cancellation to make room for the Nigel Farage speech in DC at CPAC.

Morrissey teams up with PETA for ‘Holidays Are Murder on Turkeys’ Campaign

Morrissey- never play Jimmy Kimmel's show again....ever....gross indeed from Vulture online: The other day, I had a foie gras hot dog,” says Jimmy Kimmel, dressed in a gray hoodie and baggy jeans, sitting in a makeshift office at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, where he was hosting a week of his...
