Zack Snyder's recollection of making "Tomorrow" promo video

Always found it a bit weird that this take, including him mouthing “anyone” instead of “anybody”, and subsequently looking quite embarrassed about it, didn’t get superseded. There’s a similar mismouthing in Len’s Steal My Sunshine vid (the girl, when they’re on the scooters), for fans of such...

Sorry, are you saying I think ROTT is a work of genius? Because I really, really, really don’t. I said earlier in the thread that the new record’s the best he’s done since that one, but qualified it by adding that it’s not exactly a high bar. It’s probably on a par with ROTT but with a lower...

On IANASOAC, that’s just one verse and stands out a bit from the rest of the lyrics. It’s going to surprise people with how gentle it starts, given the title. My Hurling Days Are Done has a little of You Know I Couldn’t Last about it, but without the crunchy bits. There’s some sections with...

I've given myself a week or so away from this, but gave it another run-through in full today - it definitely rewards relistening. Still holding firm around the 6.5/10 mark for me. Strangely, if Love Is On The Way Out wasn't on it, I'd probably be thinking more like 7.

Morrissey’s lyrics have been the weakest thing about Morrissey’s music since 2004

There’s some good lines on the new album but some absolute horrorshows in there too. I think he’s spending an inordinate amount of time coming up with titles, nailing the title in as the opening line, and then phoning a lot of the lyrics in. The “panpipes save a life” and “fiddle Stradivarius...

"What Kind of People Live in These Houses?"

Love Is On The Way Out aside, and a swipe at newspapers in the title track, he seems to keep a lid on it.

Under no circumstances, sorry. I feel bad enough about posting out-of-context lyric snippets!

I think a lot of people here are going to be thrilled with it. As I say, I’m an old fan who has trouble with him these days. One thing I’m certain about though: Jim Jim Falls would have been an excellent lead single. What Kind Of People ... has a similar Bona Drag-era vintage sound and feel to...

Somewhere in this bit ... Kill Uncle Maladjusted Ringleader Of The Tormentors Those three I find hard to rank. It’s probably better than ROTT, but with nothing anywhere near the likes of Pigsty. Depends if you want one-off gems that you’ll play over and over or a handful of songs you won’t mind...

Some more lyrics after another listen (apologies if I misheard any of these). Slightly random snatches, not all choruses by any means ... Jim Jim Falls (which really is a cracking opener) “If you’re gonna jump then jump Don’t think about it If you’re gonna run home and cry Then don’t waste my...

I only liked two tracks on LIHS. After a listen and a bit there’s a couple more I like on the new one, although so far nothing’s grabbed me as much as Israel did. Quality control seems higher overall, but nothing really soars like, say, a Pigsty

Indie-rock with jabbing electro beats. It reminded me of a crunchy synth sound from an old rave song by Digital Orgasm, although it and indeed nothing on the album is electronic dance music. The horses won’t be scared too much. It’s definitely a hair-raising intro to a Moz album, but the fact...

Didn’t notice any, but that’s not to say they’re not on there. There are various horrible cheap-sounding synth instruments in the mix though, the aforementioned brass the most jarring of the lot. Reminded me of an 80s Yamaha keyboard I used to have.
