I don't know if you think anyone would be interested in this, but here is a scan of the menu that the venue was serving that night. Our waitress told us that he specifically requested a vegetarian menu be served that night and didn't want any meat in the building. Period.

P.S. There is a typo on it. Or maybe I don't know what dreid fruit is. . .

  • $9.00! That's an outrage!

I'd pay only if I got a copy of the menu to go along with it.

I like the choice of food though - for once, its nice to have acknowledged the fact that as a vegetarian, I don't always want exotic unnamable dishes that taste foul because, quite frankly, certain foods were just never meant to go together. I never go to restaurants for the simple reason that I can never find more than 2 veggie dishes, and they're usually something like "Guava, Daisy and Kiwi relish on Coriander and Cotton Bread with Suitcase Sauce" or whatever crap they get away with charging £12 for. I like good old fashioned salad and sandwiches and soup. And also, as a vehement despiser of the good old chip, nice to see that it's tortilla chips with everything instead!! Goddamnit, I'm hungry now. I should find better restaurants.

by friday, life has killed me... everyday is like friday
  • That's pretty stupid cheese, is done with an enzyme taken from the stoamch of a calf (chymosine). Real vegetarian cheese are not easy to find (and by the way not very good).

It's stupid to think that removing ham is enough to get a vegan menu.

And all these people (including the great M) are wearing leather belt and shoes. Or are these done with cows really dedicated to fashion????

  • contain small amounts of animal traces in them such as mentioned before rennet or chicken stock which is in most soups. we all need to be a little bit more careful when we order so we can send those stinking cock roaches back to there meat eating places.

  • The whole menu looks dodgy without even mentioning all the typos. No self-respecting professional chef would stand for such an extremely poor menu presentation. Of course, this could very easily be a menu from a caterer, who are universally known for their shoddy presentations and unparalled ignorance of vegetarian fair. If this is indeed what Morrissey is faced with when touring one can easily understand why he cancels so many of his shows.

  • looks like he still isn't vegan. i love him but this fact makes me sad! it isn't that difficult to live vegan, especially in his situation. and i think it's not good to sing MEAT IS MURDER, when milk (and cheese) is murder too! at least it is here in germany. a cow that 'produces' milk is kept in a small stable and if the ammount she gives isn't enough anymore she'll be killed because otherwise the company would lose money. maybe i'm wrong and it is different in the US or the UK, if so, please let me know!
i don't like to come up with this topic, because i really respect vegatarians, but someone as smart and gentle as he is should come to the conclusion that the 'production' of milk is also a very animal- unfriendly process!
by the way, does anybody know if he still wears leather or is it fake?
all this has nothing to do with his music and i usually wouldn't talk about this topic, cause it's something that has to do with his private life, but it fits perfect in the current discussion..
