In the latest issue (August 2004, Angelina Jolie on the cover) of the swedish edition of COSMOPOLITAN there is a short article entitled "In every woman's home". It reads "There are things that quite frankly makes a difference. That transforms your home from an ordinary place till a place where everybody - not at least you - wants to be."

Among other things that are recommended are "A decent cd-collection", a 4 item list which includes Morrissey's "VAUXHALL & I"! (The other 3 are Nick Drake's "Five leaves left", Leroy Burgess "An anthology" & R Kelly's "The R. in the r'n'b collection vol. 1"...

It does, however say that these are records that "guarantees pluspoints from the opposite sex", but I find it very interesting that the same man that the other year declared he had written a song called "Women don't seem to like me" now is a must-have according to a women's lifestyle bible...

  • Of course 'Vauxhall and I' is superb, as is Nick Drake's 'Five Leaves Left'. How either of these two records found their way into Cosmopolitan I can't quite fathom! Who's Leroy Burgess? I really have never heard of him. R.Kelly is cobblers. But to be fair, they have it right - if I saw 'Vauxhall and I' and 'Five Leaves Left' in a girl's CD collection I'd be WELL impressed - usually I only see Justin Timberlake or Enrique Iglesias!

  • Cause I collect simply hundreds of fashion & otherwise vain-girl magazines I was surprised to see Morrissey actually mentioned in a British B Magazine and even more surprised that nobody's scanned the excerpt in. It's probably just me but I find it quite funny. It's an article about celibacy and it has this column about celibate celebrities. It has a small picture of Moz circa 1992 during the Parisian red light district shoot, and it says next to it: "The former flower-loving singer of the Smiths used to be openly celibate in the band's heyday. Now he's only celibate on Christmas Day and public holidays."

    LOL, well thank you B
