The Metro: Morrissey’s pro Black Lives Matter tweet dragged on social media (June 3, 2020)

I didn’t say you LIVED in a 98% country. I said you GREW UP in one.

Anyway, I thought you were Irish. I was in Ireland in 1996. I remember walking from one end of Dublin and not seeing a single POC.

I grew up in Glasgow - a post-industrial city on the West Coast of Scotland.

My father is Irish.

Dublin wasn't all white in 1996. You probably weren't as much of a headbanger back then & didn't notice.

Stanley Kubrick is American. Whatever your point is - it's not not going to make me think Reel isn't either obsessed by American conspiracy theories or is actually an American.

If she is American, she is the biggest Anglophile I’ve ever encountered.

Dublin wasn't all white in 1996.

I didn’t say it was. I said I did see any POC.

The point still stands that I have infinitely more experience with diversity than you.

Aye, Travis, posting on a white nationalist website & visiting Dublin in 1996 is an INFINITE amount of experience.

I live New York which only about 33% non-Hispanic white and only 20% non-Hispanic white gentile. I’ve been a racial minority for the last 10 years of my life.

New York is a great city - I've got friends there & we take shows there. What do you need to be in a majority for? What are you prevented from doing? (Apart from, you know, genocide & that sort of thing....)

I’m deprived of any real sense of community. It’s alienating. Granted, there’s nothing keeping me here. I have my reason for staying.

An interesting aspect of New York is that it is one of the most liberal and anti-racist cities in the world and yet everyone self-segregates based In race. Whites move to Williamsburg to be around other whites, Hispanics move to Jackson Heights to be around other Hispanics, Asians move to Flushing, etc.
And for a city that is extremely anti-racist, race is literally the only thing anyone ever wants to talk about. People talk about the South being very “racist” and I suppose that element is there (not as much as people think though) but it’s still considered impolite to talk about race. But in New York, it’s all race, all the time.

One thing you notice about sci-fi set in the future is that it always presents race as a non-issue. There is a lot of sci-fi that shows class still being a problem in the future (Metropolis, The Time Machine, etc). But race is something that everyone assumes that humanity eventually gets past. How is never explained. It’s just assumed that the problem eventually fixes itself somehow.
But a more likely scenario is that we are looking at a future where EVERYTHING is about race.

You don't need to be in a majority to experience community - all you need is people you connect with & ways of connecting with them.

People talk about things when they're trying to work through them - most of my conversations in New York have been about theatre, ticket sales, scandals & trade unions (I can't believe how many people have to live on tips).

You know who likes talking about the theater? White people.
You know who likes talking about trade unions? White people.

I know some of the people involved in the New York chapter of the Democratic Socialist of America. That organization is so extremely white, it’s a punchline. It’s literally +90% white.

You keep doing this and it's really annoying

This is what is known in Alt Right circles as NAXALT: Not All X Are Like That. It's a logical fallacy.

NAXALT is when someone tries to hand wave away a statement that is generally true by pointing out the existence of a statistically insignificant number of outliers. It's REALLY annoying.

I would advise you to read this article on why NAXALT arguments are dumb.

Sample:
1: I have never heard of an argument that requires all X to be like that. It doesn't matter what your ideology is. The fact that not all Republicans voted for a certain bill does not mean that the bill in question does not get passed largely because of the Republicans. The fact that not all feminists/MRAs hurt the cause of MRAs/feminists does not mean that one group as a whole does not make the others' job much harder. The fact that some alt righters support BLM does not make the alt right pro-black. I have never met a person, in person or online, who made an argument about a large group, where the argument required that every member of that group be a certain way. This argument is a complete non-sequitur in virtually every instance.

You are claiming that you are part of a white minority in New York & that the entire white race is being deliberately wiped out via mass immigration AND that non-white people in Dublin & in my profession are a statistically insignificant number of outliers.

Logic really isn't your strong point.

You are claiming that you are part of a white minority in New York

Where's the lie?

that the entire white race is being deliberately wiped out via mass immigration

Not the entire white race. Eastern Europe will survive because they are not morons like we are.

that non-white people in Dublin a statistically insignificant number of outliers.

In 1996, yes. Where's the lie?

That non-white people in Dublin & in my profession are a statistically insignificant number of outliers.

What I said is that the people who like to talk about theater tend to be white. The theater-going audience is whiter that theater staff and crew for a variety of reason, especially in New York.
Do POC theater enthusiasts exist? Sure but I have never met one. Not a heterosexual one, anyway. Going to the theater is very expensive. It's not entertainment from proles.

Logic really isn't your strong point.

None of those were logic-arguments based. When I say I'm a minority in New York, I didn't reason my way to that conclusion. I just looked at the data.

If they're statistically insignificant outliers that's hardly the fall of the Western World is it?

And you would have to reason your way into deciding that they were statistically insignificant outliers.

You're like a Care Bear who read a synopsis of Mein Kampf on Reddit.

Sigh....
I... I just... I just can't. You know, I really just can't right now. I can feel my IQ dropping just reading those questions.
You are, once again, TRYING to miss the point. Like you are putting real effort into it. Like it would be 100 times easier to just get the point than to not get the point. But rather than take the easy route by just getting the point, you focusing all your mental energy thinking "How can I miss this point?" I can hear the hamster running inside his wheel in your brain...

And just can't. I really just can't right now.

You're like a Care Bear who read a synopsis of Mein Kampf on Reddit.

I'll have you know that I got 1/5 of the way through Mein Kampf before getting bored.

Travis - your point was shit & you just can't right now because your point was shit.

If non-white people are outliers that you place no significance on then you can't also be predicting the fall of the West to those same insignificant outliers - if we can keep a hold of Dublin, Theatre & The Trade Union Movement we've got a lot of power.

I'm amazed that you've read as much as a fifth of any book.

You had over a thousand dislikes within 3 months of joining the site, that an awful lot in a very short period of time. BTW, anyone studying Judo would never tell someone they needed a smack in the face but hey you also told us you worked in a hospital a few months back lol.
That makes you look pathetic not me. You and your 3 butt buddies are the only people on the site that down vote me. 99% don't care or give me positive reactions. I make you gammas spiral and you pathetically obsess over me. Once you trigger a gamma they don't leave you alone. Sad sacks
@Eldritch swiftly making my point right on cue
