Well, the New Year is almost upon us. Time to dust off your crystal balls and predict what 2003 holds for Moz.

Do you think he'll be signed? What label?

Will he record and release songs in 2003? If so what will be the first single? What will the B-sides be. An album? Who will produce?(Slash?) (What will the title and tracklisting be? Will Moz be on the cover, or will we get another cover star? If so, who? (Tony Danza?)

Will he retain the same line up? If not, who will leave?

Will he tour? Where? Who will support? (Julia Riley?)What old songs will he unearth? (Golden Lights?)

2002 was the year of the cardigan. What will 2003 hold sartorially for Moz? (Clogs?)

Will more illicit unreleased recordings be unearthed and spread via the net? (The 12 minute kazoo and spoons version of Please, Please, Please...?)

Will we get a Smiths box-set with out-takes? Will all the legal hatchets get finally buried paving the way for dare I say it...a reunion between Morrissey and.........Kevin Armstrong....

Will he stay in L.A. or rent a cold water flat in Whalley Range for inspiration?
Will he release that rumoured autobiography and will his version of events reveal that as well as singing and lyric duties for the Smiths, he actually played all the guitars, drums and keyboards too, both on record and 'live'. Johnny Marr's outraged denial will be answered with "Well, people sometimes remember events differently..."

Anyway, let's hear YOUR clairvoyant views on these and other Moz 2003 issues before New Year strikes (wherever you are). If you get things right, you can point people back to this archived thread in a year's time and GLOAT.

> Do you think he'll be signed? What label?

Rip Off Recs. 20 more 'best of's will be released in America & Japan as he continues with the American leg of the tour. Japan releases come with a Japanese translation of Morrisseys instructions on how to prepare a pot of tea. It can be downloaded from the net when you enter the registration code that comes with your Japanese CD.

> Will he record and release songs in 2003?

No. But he will go on mentioning the new songs.
Some scary major label offers him a record deal provided he records a duet with The Datsuns or Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Morrissey is shocked.

If so what will be the first
> single? What will the B-sides be.

If he does release new material after all on - you never now..eh, - the single will be called 'Cally Road' - b-side will be a cover of The Libertines "Up the bracket'. Cover star will be some carry on star or other. Probably Sidney James.

>An album? Who will produce?(Slash?)
Defenitely not Joe Strummer.

> (What will the title and tracklisting be? Will Moz be on the cover, or
> will we get another cover star? If so, who? (Tony Danza?)

Title will be 'Irish blood, English heart' but the song by the same name will be strangely missing from the album. Morrissey will be on the cover. The over all cover design will strangely resemble the colours of the www.morrissey-solo.com start page.

NME print another Morrissey-racist piece.

> Will he retain the same line up? If not, who will leave?

Once again he will get a new drummer, Boz, Alain & Gary will stay of course.

> Will he tour? Where?
First America..some time in Febuary, March - then on to Europe

Who will support?

Sack, and The Thrills will be supporting on some of the European dates, Libertines will do the support for the London dates provided they don't collide with their own tour. In France the singer from Les Rita Mitsouko will be supporting, promoting her solo-debut. In America there will be many different support bands chosen by the local promoters.

What old songs will
> he unearth? (Golden Lights?)

Yes, either that or he will do a coverversion of 'Smash the discos' by The Business

> 2002 was the year of the cardigan. What will 2003 hold sartorially for

what do I know..he'll grow a beard? hahaaa!! : )

> Will more illicit unreleased recordings be unearthed and spread via the

This charming man - LA (with additional synthesizer sounds) will be floating around on the net

> Will we get a Smiths box-set with out-takes? Will all the legal hatchets
> get finally buried paving the way for dare I say it...a reunion between
> Morrissey and.........Kevin Armstrong....

They will go on till 2005.

> Will he stay in L.A. or rent a cold water flat in Whalley Range for
> inspiration?

He'll sell his LA home and buy a new house in Ireland which was originally built for Margox by some unknown actor friend of hers.

> Will he release that rumoured autobiography

no, not yet. That will happen closer to the settling of the legal trouble. Judge Weeks name will be in the index of said autobiography in bold letters.

and will his version of events
> reveal that as well as singing and lyric duties for the Smiths, he
> actually played all the guitars, drums and keyboards too, both on record

> "Well, people sometimes remember events differently..."

Yes! It will also reveal that Johnny Marr actually cannot play the guitar and that he got the ideas for all his haircuts from Morrissey.
