People are strange when you're a stranger Faces look ugly when you're alone
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted
Streets are uneven when you're down
When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
When you're strange
When you're strange

A strange thing I once heard...
I asked a contractor who was doing work for me if I could have a copy of his worker's comp. certificate.
He told me that he didn't carry worker's comp for his employee....so, I asked him why he didn't.
He replied (in a very hickish accent), "awwww....If Jimmy got hurt...he wouldn't sue meeeee cuz we was in a band together."

My first job was in a cafe where the cook was the guitar player for THe Allman Bros. and cooked in this podunk cafe in our town between gigs. To make a long story short pretty much everyone who worked there were into rock and roll, real rock and roll, KLOS crowd if you're from LA. Anyway I came traipsing in fresh in the independent music scene in the late 80s and I'd play Echo and the Bunnymen's version of Strange and they'd make vomit sounds and turn the tapedeck off. I learned real fast you don't f*** with classic rock around classic rockers. They'd let me play The Smiths though.
