Hi - I've just produced this podcast playing some of the tracks in Morrissey's autobiography - The Strange Brew Podcast. Hope you like it.

Inspired by Morrissey’s new autobiography, the Strange Brew picks choice tracks that shaped Morrissey’s formative years: ”we roar and rage through the 1960s, pinned together by pop music, and by the suspicious absence of money.”

What a fantastic idea!

What a fantastic idea!

What a dope, he forgot to mention 'Sexuality' by Billy Bragg ! "Just because your a humersexual ! I won't throw you away"

Classic mistake yet again, tut tut slapdash.

Wonderful! Thanks for putting this together for us all to enjoy:thumb: Many of the early songs I have never heard. I love this additional peek into Morrissey's mind.

yeah, what they all said, such an eclectic mix of songs
and for me it includes the whole range from:

ones I've always loved
ones I've forgotten about :o but seeing on here, I'm like, oh I love that song :thumb:
others I've now listened to and really like :)
and some I've never heard of, but will make the effort to listen to :guitar:

Thanks for the list

:guitar:

'and they say he's mentall'... no they w/don't rule Morrissey-solo...

Wow, the time spent finding all these songs in the autobiography must have taken hours. Thanks for this :) I've even bought a Velvet Underground album due to Morrissey and it's pretty good.

some great songs there, the 70s really did produce some amazing music, way ahead of its time, unlike some of the shit we have to listen too nowadays.

Hello, I'm Greg that made the playlist. I'm pretty sure there are no individual Lou or VU songs mentioned in the book but of course I may have missed something. I didn't include full albums (e.g. Horses) and the songs are placed in the order he mentions them (even if he doesn't actually like them...!)

Great work. I particularly like the (former Beatles engineer) Norman "Hurricane" Smith's track. Never heard that before. So thanks for that!

You might want to add Roxy Music "Beauty Queen" to that list.

When talking about Siouxsie he says.....

"Swaying palms at your feet, you're the pride of your street"

:)
