A lot of people seem to complain about the 2006 setlist, so what would be your perfect setlist ?

As we need to be a bit realistic, let's pick 18 songs, which must inlcude at least 8 from the ROTT sessions and maximum 4 smiths songs

I'll post mine later

Setlist

A lot of folk are moaning about the setlist.
I'd like him to drop all songs from YATQ and do a couple of songs from Bona Drag/Your Arsenal/Vauxhall and the rest from ROTT.

Roll on Grimsby!

People will always moan about the set-list. It seems a decent mix to me, having been to so many tours I'm not really missing hearing the likes of Everyday is Like Sunday or November Spawned a Monster for the umpteenth time.

Set List

I had a truely great time at Ally Pally.

However, it wasnt as good as Brighton 2 years ago or Royal Albert Hall, but hey ho.

What could have made it better? Less weido crowds - never seen that type before, and also a slightly changed set list.

I would like to hear Speedway or Last of the Famous International Playboys live - surely that one is more pertinant now more than ever.

Saying that: At last I am born is an experience in itself live.

Also, did anyone else enjoy Tommy Steele's "Fings aint wot they used to be at the beginning" inspired!

Nikita and Aly Pally threads merged due to same subject.

Cheers,
Mjp.

Morrissey must get sick of the repitition, he needs to do some suprises every now and again.

Setlist

Ok why not?!!

First Of the Gang
You Have Killed Me
I Will See You In Far Off Places
I Have Forgiven Jesus
In the Future When All’s Well
That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore
Dear God, Please Help Me
I’ll Never Be Anybody’s Hero Now
Life is a Pigsty
Let Me Kiss You
The Youngest Was the Most Loved
Late Night Maudlin Street
To Me You Are a Work of Art
Now My Heart Is Full
Last Night I Dreamt
You're The One For Me Fatty
How Soon Is Now
Shoplifters

now that, for me, would be amazing!!

I would love to hear some older stuff - even Kill Uncle which he leaves well alone (perhaps he does listen to his fans after all???). I would rather hear something from that, or Vaxhuall or Your Arsenal than Smiths songs too but I would imagine I would be in the minority on this one!

I agree that Quarry songs should be temporarily shelved but finding a better opener than First of The Gang To Die would be tough.

I also don't like that he does new B sides and obscure covers too but he probably picks them to keep us quiet for 5 minutes so he can hear himself sing for once!

In answer to the original question, I would never tire of hearing the following in any gig:
  • Trouble Loves Me
  • Now My Heart Is Full
  • Picadilly Palare
  • Sing Your Life
  • Nobody Loves Us
  • Billy Budd
  • Boxers
  • National Front Disco
Wow, I could go on but as long as they were there I would be a happy rabbit.

So here is mine

Mute witness
First of the gang to die
You have killed me
I will see you in far off places
Let me kiss you
In the future when all is well
Have-a-go merchant
Trouble loves me
The younger was the most loved
Now my heart is full
Stop me if you think that you've heard this one before
The father who must be killed
I knew I was next
Suedehead
I just want to see the boy happy
Speedway

Irish blood, English heart
Life is a pigsty

Wow - there's a song I would add to my wish list - good call Nikita!

Thanks, but I realise that I forgot to mention at least one song from Your arsenal sessions - what should I drop out to include Certain people I know or Tomorrow ?

for me it would be "let me kiss you" - like that you started with a Kill Uncle track too!

A mandatory 8 ROTT songs is really a bit much…I went with 6 which is plenty in itself. This would make for a great show methinks:

First of the Gang to Die
Ouija Board, Ouija Board
The Youngest was the Most Loved
Sister I'm a Poet
Dear God, Please Help me
You Have Killed Me
Don’t Make Fun of Daddy’s Voice
The Last of the Famous International Playboys
The Boy Racer
Driving Your Girlfriend Home
We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful
The Father Who Must Be Killed
In the Future When All's Well
The Boy With The Thorn In His Side
Glamorous Glue
At Last I Am Born
Speedway
--------------------
The Queen Is Dead

make HSIN redundant, that song is done way too many times

Perfect setlist?

That's easy......I would hear anything but as long longer than 75 minutes something like 90 mins or so

Just feel 75 mins is a bit short so add 3 or 4 more songs would be better

Setlist

Backdrop: 1984 Miners Strike Photo
Intro Music - The teachers are afraid of the Pupils (instrumental intro)

You have killed me
Boy with the thorn in his side
The Youngest was the most loved
Dear god please help me
Late night, Maudlin Street
First of the gang to die
The father who must be killed
I've changed my plea to guilty
To me you are a work of Art
Speedway
Life is a Pigsty
Trouble loves me
I will see you in far off places
Mute witness
Seasick yet still docked
The more you ignore me, the closer I get
Jack the Ripper
At last I am born

encore: Nobody loves us INTO Last night I dreamt that somebody loved me

I think that would cover all the bases.
