I won the Hatful of hollow sleeve design hand drawn by Morrissey

got me some markers and crayons, gonna finish up where he didn’t and tidy it up a bit so it looks better. Trust me, it’ll be a big improvement after I’m done with it.

Missed the live auction, thankfully. Look at those prices. Some serious cash being spent there

Barca poster & YJHEIYB Stamper, for me ??‍♂

... got pipped on the set of That Joke proofs, would’ve loved those, already had them framed in my mind, but the underbidder on that Barcelona poster really depleted my funds!
Would’ve loved the QID Gold Disc, aswell, I’m surprised it done so well, as it wasn’t an official BPI award, more of a Rough Trade In-House award, but it was awarded to the boss, for their most iconic album, so worth every penny to the winner ?

..there’s still a few very big ticket items to come later today, Barbarism 1-sided test pressing, and Meat Is Murder U.K. ROUGH81 Test (currently stands at £1,600), and a couple of minor rarities, Headmaster Cowboy Kid Sleeve etc.

Very nice

That was the item I’d have bid on if I had the money.

Hatful is my favourite Smiths album & having Morrissey’s hand-drawn sketch would be amazing.

I’m rather jealous, but good for you.

Congrats!

Just out of curiosity - what made the price go that far for the Barcelona poster specifically? Isn't it the same one as sold here, for example?

yeah exactly the same, many factors tho, that was 10 years ago, for starters, plus a bit of ignorance maybe, buyers not spotting a bargain, not trusting in the item, or just thinking it’s an ugly poster? Maybe thinking it’s a knock off. I used to think gig posters were trash and tacky, I passed on plenty myself, for nothing money, I can’t believe the popsike results on some, of, what I now consider to be, stunning gig posters! ?

there’s now a lot more appreciation for these kinds of posters, especially in mint condition, and it’s geoffs, so there’s no shadow of doubt towards it’s authenticity, £3,000 is still suspiciously high tho, could just be another eager bidder that loved it as much as me, I hope that’s the case. I heard it was someone who had a problem with me tho, and was bidding it up ? ??‍♂

...who knows....bottom line, I don’t care, it’s an amazing poster. Had enough bargains over the years to allow me some wiggle room on stuff like this, the swings and roundabouts of collecting.
